You had a fee waiver? How? I was told they didn't give them.

I did but only because of my LSAC waiver.....

I mentioned nothing Hawaii specific in my PS but I did fill in the alternate admissions essay which spoke to my diversity and how that would fit at Hawaii. I ended up getting a regular admit and not the alternate scholars program, but I still think it may have helped.

My PS (for the non in-state schools) was mainly about how I'm ready to go away from home. I referenced what the Richardson School of Law is good at and why they are aligned with my interests.

Am I screwed if my CAS report gets sent in a few days before February 1? I submitted my application October 1, right when the application became available. However, I took the LSAT in December and one of my professors just sent in the letter of rec earlier this week (it hasn't even shown up on my account yet, so I'm freaking out a little).

I got mine through LSAC.

I applied here part-time.

I'm extremely discouraged because I hear they admit only 24 students part-time? I'm also confused by their admission numbers. They admit fewer than 20% yet have a pretty relaxed median LSAT/GPA. Is this because they consider soft factors and in-state tuition heavily?

Mainly the latter. You have to remember that for people from/in Hawaii, UH is the only show in town. Add its tiny class, and you have some rough admissions numbers.

So I'm getting ready to book tickets to visit during its ASD, turns out it goes right with my spring break, go figure.

You have no idea how badly I wanted this to be me. I'm pretty sure I was in after a few conversations with their admissions dean. However, I couldn't see myself spending the ~$100 to apply since I didn't have a waiver.

Enjoy ASD!

Thanks. Honestly, I'm probably going to end up at Rutgers Newark. It will be cheaper, I have connections in my home state of New Jersey, so on and so forth. But regardless, I will be dropping a pretty penny or two on law school, despite the schollys I have. So, what's another $1k (Also going to Portland, OR and Miami, FL) on making 100% sure I'm happy where I end up?

Awesome. As of now, I'm going to the UMich ASW, UCONN ASD, and I'll go to any of CLS, PENN, or Berkeley if I get in.

When did you apply and go complete?

Congrats!

Thanks! I applied the Monday of the week of Thanksgiving, and I went complete the date I got accepted on December 6.

Edited because apparently I speak as if my second language is English....

I was accepted via phone call, my status didn't fully update for another day or so. Also, if you're from the east like I am, it's really weird getting calls and information from law schools at 7-8 PM.

Just booked my flight & hotel for admitted students day. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

Does anybody know if they have to accept a seat before applying for internal scholarships?

Nope, you don't have to. Just follow the instructions to create a STAR account and you can apply for scholarships.

Awesome, thanks! I just applied to four of them. But, my chances are pretty slim as I'm 5,000 miles away with no connections to Hawaii.
