On the status checker, it says it was mailed 11/21 (for me, presumably 11/23 for you?). I'm hoping to get it Friday.

nope, nothing for me yet..so looks like no joy until next week

That's a shame; you'll have to wait to find out what your HLS email address is ;). It's probably safe to say that it's first initial last name for everyone, particularly since we're the first, and it's unlikely that any of us have the same last name, let alone the same first initial and last name.

Has anyone received the packet yet? I thought I remembered people receiving them on the Fri/Sat after Thanksgiving in last year's thread...

Checking in! I've been home for Thanksgiving/celebrating with the fam and I totally missed this thread.

I'll be 22 in the fall. I'm not withdrawing from other schools yet. For some reason since it's so early in the cycle I'm really reluctant to say that I'm definitely going to Harvard...even though I really can't imagine any reason I wouldn't go at this point :)

Maybe it's a bit soon to start thinking about this, but I've been curious: anyone know if most students go for the on-campus housing, or if not, what kinds of off-campus options are available?

Can those of you that have either chosen Harvard or at least eliminated some schools please start withdrawing?

I've already started. But I think I will keep Columbia just in case Harvard calls me to say "oops", we admitted you by mistake. I plan to withdraw from every school except Yale n Columbia in two weeks.

Edit: I hope my withdrawal from Chi helps you! Best of luck

There is a discussion about this in another thread (I believe it's in 'Harvard Students Answering Your Questions'). I remember reading that more than half the law students live off-campus, but a significant number are also on-campus. I'm not sure how this proportion relates to 1Ls; it seems probable that many 1Ls would stay on-campus the first year, then explore other options later. There are quite a few nice apartments/complexes nearby; in most cases, however, I believe off-campus is at least several hundred dollars/month more. If you haven't already, you should look over the housing section of the HL website: http://www.law.harvard.edu/current/stud ... s/housing/

I got my info packet in the mail today. It includes: a letter from KB, a letter about the email address and "Me" account, a viewbook sort of thing, info on the next steps, a newsletter, some forms, and a couple of HLS stickers.

edit: I've claimed "Me" and am on the AS website, which basically contains the same info as the mailing (unsurprisingly).

edit2: Apparently at some point we can request that they send an HLS Mom/Dad sticker to our parents. That is adorable; my parents will get a real kick out of it.

That's so sweet! I wish I knew what my other options would be so that I could start deciding what to do.

Yes, I was disappointed when it didn't arrive yesterday, and very glad to see an overflowing mailbox as I pulled up to my house a bit ago. Don't worry, it will arrive before long! I'm surprised I'm the first to report receiving it, though, since there are so many people on the East Coast who were admitted, and I'm way out here in CO.

Any cool info in the newsletter or the viewbook? I won't be at my permanent address for at least another week.

Not really. Just what you would expect: lots of general stuff about how good HLS is.

Nope, they just say that there will be one each in March and April.

My letter from KB does list the ASW dates (I received my packet today as well- I'm on the westernmost East Coast). They're March 3-5 and April 14-16. The viewbook is pretty cool. Dean Minow says 'we searched the world for you.'

Whoops. RC fail on my part. Yes, it's right there. I was too excited to notice that

edit: And now that I've actually read the letter, one interesting tidbit is this: "This year we will provide at least partial transportation reimbursement for all admitted applicants visiting campus before May 1."

Thanks! Apparently about 40% of 1Ls live on campus..hmmm.

Also, I came back to school to find my acceptance packet waiting for me. Mine didn't have any stickers :( but the letter was enough to cheer me up. IT'S REAL! I didn't hallucinate my KB2!

My package arrived this morning. West coast. It's nice to have one more confirmation that this is real.

I got my package as well - it was nice to log into the website and see everything in writing! Why is it that we were all paranoid we were hallucinating this?!

I'd like to go to the first ASW in March, but I think it will be hard to swing in my schedule. I know there's no considerable difference between the two, I'm just impatient...

I just got back home and I saw another, much thinner, envelope from Harvard. I was so scared it was a letter saying "We regret to inform you that we made a mistake. You actually have not been admitted." Luckily it was just the 'deposit or withdrawal' form. I guess they forgot to include it in my main package.

Jeez!
