Re: In at Harvard
With such a small percentage of people coming directly from UG, what is the median age at time of matriculation nowadays?

I'll be 24... It seems like the medians tend to be within a year or two of that... I have a feeling it's something that will continue on an upward trend though

You're still nowhere near Woody Allen's son, who graduated from Yale at 19-20.

Checking in! I've been so excited all day. I'm fairly debt averse and was all set to wait and see what kind of other acceptances/scholarships I get, but now I feel kind of like when you try on an expensive outfit in the store and you fall in love with it and suddenly don't care about the price tag...

Again, no. Those accepted wanted to create a separate thread for those who had been admitted because they didn't want to clutter the applicants thread with their discussions.UnamSanctam wrote:You're right, my mistake. Except if everybody does this then we have double the threads in an already hectic forum. Keep the clutter in its respective thread instead of cluttering up the entire forum.Hawkeye Pierce wrote:Again, no. People have done this is in the past. It's not as if there is no precedence.UnamSanctam wrote: Except if everybody does this then we have double the threads in an already hectic forum. Keep the clutter in its respective thread instead of cluttering up the entire forum.
Now, let's stop cluttering this thread up with off-topic discussion.

Agreed. In at Harvard was a solid thread last year, ~14 pages of pre-enrollment goodness.
Remember to head to Harvard 2015 after you guys make the right decision.

Hooray!
I'll be 26, soon to be 27 when I start, unless I defer for a year.

Re: In at Harvard
I am so happy! I still can't believe it! I must be dreaming!
I want to share with everyone my story from yesterday. I was at a Beethoven trios concert here in Spain, with my phone on silent in my lap. I kept glancing at it, willing it to ring, for the entirety of the two-hour performance, but it didn't. By this time it was 2 or 3 pm in Cambridge and I was starting to freak out. Pretty sad and pissed, I got home at 9:30 pm my time and checked my email, only to find an email from KB, saying she hadn't called because our time zones are off and she didn't want to possibly wake me LOL! It's like KB, please, I haven't been sleeping for the last two weeks anyway!
I'll be 23 when I start. HOLY CRAP PEEPS, WE ARE IN AT HARVARD!

Thank you, numbers twin! No worries, I see good things in your future. It's still so early in the cycle. Besides, I'm jealous of YOU, you got a FAT scholarship from Virginia, whereas they haven't told me anything!

Re: In at Harvard
Ha! Something similar happened to me here in Germany. I was actually doing an off-campus alumni interview for another law school yesterday and kept thinking about it the entire time. When I didn't hear anything all day I was pretty convinced it just wasn't going to happen.LaCumparsita wrote:I am so happy! I still can't believe it! I must be dreaming!

Came to work this morning and there it was--an e-mail with the same line about the time zones. Still walking on air. I absolutely cannot believe it.

The rumor is the UVA Admissions office is still pooling all their scholly money to break into the $200,000 range for your offerLaCumparsita wrote:Thank you, numbers twin! That is amazing oliver_h! I can't believe you didn't find out until this morning. I was angry that I didn't find out until 2 hours after the email had been sent!
Tom Joad, stop it, you're making me blush. But honestly, I think if I haven't heard from Virginia by now, I'm probably getting a waitlist or rejection.

Re: In at Harvard
PS, my status finally changed! Instead of "Your application is complete," it says:
"We are thrilled to welcome you to this incredible institution! We believe that this is the single best place in the world to study law. Your class is comprised of tomorrow's leading lawyers, public servants, human rights activists, academics, corporate executives, and catalysts for social change. Any questions may be directed to JD Admissions at 1L2B"
Exciting!
