Is anyone who was planning on attending Nova and who had submitted deposit now thinking of backing out bc of the new ranking??? Kind of worried all decent students will leave bc of it and as a result the reputation may go down?

This question has been addressed before. I had concerns until I realized how absurd it is to worry about a school falling out of tier 2 by one spot. Villanova has a great reputation in Philadelphia. Look at how many Temple and Villanova grads are associates and partners of the firms in Philadelphia if you want evidence. If you want to hear other people on here comment on this subject look at these posts:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=180462&view=viewpoll

Overall do what you feel is best, but don't get caught up in the rankings. The reputation that Villanova holds in Philadelphia outweighs the U.S. News rankings. If you still have doubts go to the ASD this weekend. I'm sure they will address your concerns, and you can take out of that what you want.

Hello! My application to Villanova has been complete since 1/10 and I am an applicant for the PI Program as well! All of the information so far has been very useful thank you! Has anyone heard an acceptance from the PI Program at all yet? And has anyone that has applied for the PI scholarship received an acceptance at all with or without notification of scholarship?

I have a 3.4 with a 159 LSAT and my application status has read "complete" for over two months now with no activity. I'm worried because Villanova is my first choice. Any positive news?

Did you ask if that would be true after the April 1st deadline. I have heard that more scholarship money will be allocated after they know who is matriculating.

They said that after the April 15th deadline they would possibly have more money. Obviously this means that you much put down a seat deposit to see if you can manage a scholly.

This puts people in a precarious position. If you deposit, I think it is unlikely that you will receive more money. I believe the extra money will go to trying to sway people to attend Villanova. Once you deposit you lose all leverage.

I suppose someone who put down multiple deposits could still negotiate?

Interesting thread. I wonder whats the best way to work on scholarships. I do not think that a school like Villanova will have a full class even after the ASD deadline of the 15. If you do not pay on the first deposit date is it possible to pay the deposit later?

Not sure about Villanova's time frame for unloading more decisions. You may want to contact the other school you are considering, and ask for an extension on the deadline. The worst they can say is no, and it doesn't hurt to ask. You could also email Villanova, and inform them of your situation as well, and maybe they will have an answer for you there as well.

My status checker just got updated to today and all the print above that used to give the generic "Thank you for applying.... etc." is gone. Maybe some will hear back today and tomorrow? I applied very late though (early March) with a fee waiver because I had already applied and am considering other Philly schools. Figured why not?

Curious, did Villanova give you a scholarship?

Just from reading through a lot of the posts in the Nova forum, I was hoping that for those of you who are no longer considering Villanova, if you may post that you have withdrawn and any scholarship $ that was offered to you that may now become "available" to matriculating students.

Thanks

I remember seeing you post in another forum. Congrats on the full ride to Nova and your other options. Are you going to one of those people withdrawing and freeing up some money for others, or have you decided to matriculate?

Still up in the air. I really do apologize to those waiting. Just trying to make a fully informed decision, and was just trying to gauge what numbers the incoming class may have.

Heavily considering paying sticker to attend and passing up a 50% scholly to michigan state. Dumb? Im sure Ill hear most people say yes. But its this or potential death in the military. Which would you choose?
