Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
My bad I meant New York City. Rather not be in flushing. Anyone know if I have a shot at getting in off the waitlist with a 158 or should I retake in June?

Nice. I'm assuming you requested an increase, if so, how long did it take them to get back to you?neeko wrote:They upped my scholarship from $26k a year to $48k a year.

I asked for one several months ago at least, I think. She pretty much told me no at first.

They upped my scholarship from $32k to $47k a year. Arghhhhhhh. I was ready to write off Brooklyn completely and had forgotten to formally withdraw. Now this is making my choice difficult. I've been planning on Temple for about $7k a year. One on hand staying put in Philly would be convenient and easy, but on the other, I have always thought about living in NY...

Me too. They should've thought about this before deposit deadlines. I've already committed to Tulane and their $25k offer.superjohnnnn wrote:Doh. Same, they just upped me from 26 to 47 an year.

Was going to choose Fordham with 15k/yr over BLS 39k/yr. Now BLS just sent me another offer upping the scholarship to 48k/yr. Really don't know if I can pass up a full ride.
Anyone have any insights?

Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
I'm very tempted by my upped offer of $47k at Brooklyn. However, I'm wondering whether their estimated COA is on target. Is $13,960 for housing realistic? I guess for 9 months it could be? I'm also somewhat skeptical that living expenses would only be $6,085. I have no real basis for estimating cost of living in Brooklyn, so if anyone does, please feel free to shed some light. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to live off of loans of COA-$47,000. As a sidenote, it seems somewhat odd that campus housing is August 15-July 31. I can't tell if that is generous of them or a weird/annoying time line.

From what they said on the tour, the reason for the August 15 start date is to allow the outgoing 3Ls who live in on-campus housing to take the bar without the additional stress of moving. As a sidenote, it seems somewhat odd that campus housing is August 15-July 31. Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
Anyone else on here still waiting to hear back? My application became complete around March 1st and the last review date posted on my status page was March 14th. I have a feeling the news isn't going to be good since it seems a lot of people have found out already. I really want to go to BLS but I've been accepted at Suffolk and Pitt and need to start making decisions. I know the process takes awhile but anyone have any comments for a worried applicant? Thanks!

My status page shows that I went into review about two weeks after you did, though.
Hopefully we'll hear soon!
(FYI-- By the looks of things, I'm most likely not looking at an acceptance. 157ish with a 3.2ish GPA, female Hispanic URM... It sure would be nice to get in, though! )

Anyone still on the waitlist? What are we supposed to do in terms of financial aid forms, since the deadline is today?

Yeahhhhh. I was hoping to have a chance to visit, but that isn't looking likely. I don't think Brooklyn is the best fit for me, but I was hoping to have an opportunity to give it some serious thought. I don't think I'll be able to do so by tomorrow.keladry wrote:May 1. Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
I might. I also think my indecision may need to be put to an end, so I might just rule out BLS at this point. I'm just not sure it is the right fit based on what I know/what people at the school have told me. It's just been hard to walk away from an (almost) full ride.neeko wrote:Email your admissions counselor about an extension.B986 wrote:Yeahhhhh. Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
I find myself in a very similar position to many of you, in considering $$$ at Brooklyn and $/$$ at Fordham. I think it would be great if we could all dialogue about our situations and consider the pros/cons of the two schools. If anyone would like to discuss their situation (Fordham v Brooklyn) I would love to talk about it, to sort of get a feel for how you all are approaching it.
Thanks so much
