Does Rutgers-Camden have the same in-state tuition policy for out of state applicants as the Newark campus?

I originally applied only to Newark but I threw an application to Camden the other day, so we'll see!

Absolutely. Admissions recommends getting a NJ driver's license and a 12 month lease signed by the first part of July; however, others claim that as long as its done within a few days of classes starting, you'll be okay.

Thanks. Is the Newark Campus considered more prestigious? Employment statistics seem to favor them slightly. Sorry if this has been asked already I am new to the Camden thread.

Not more prestigious, just caters to different regions (South Jersey/Philly/DE vs North Jersey/NY).

In terms of ranking, the Camden campus has usually had a slight edge in last decade or two. However, your decision should come down to North Jersey vs. South Jersey, NYC vs. Philadelphia. Which ever area fits your preferences.

Thanks for the information. I applied to both campuses, hopefully I will have the option to choose.

Congrats! How long did it take you to go complete? My certification/payment was delivered this morning but I have received no confirmation of receipt from the admissions office.

Complete today, way faster than my application at Newark. Still a reach for me, but I have good softs and I'd go to either for free (National Guard waiver), so I'd go if accepted.

I am actually a native of Camden city. In fact, I literally grew up in North Camden, where my house is about a 10 minute walk from Rutgers-Camden. I left Camden to go to undergrad, and I really (if I had my choice) would rather go somewhere else for law school. However, costs and a family emergency is making Rutgers-Camden a real option. So I am wondering how marketable is a Rutgers-Camden degree nationwide? I am well aware that Rutgers-Camden is a mainly regional school, but I was hoping some people had success breaking into large employment law firms in other regions.

I've been complete here since 11/18. What's going on RU-Camden?

How competitive are you? I've experienced lightning fast responses from Camden, especially since the merger talks broke.

There are a lot of factors that will come into play here. Do you plan to get your first job in or near Camden? If so, future employers will care more about what you did at your job than where you went to school. How far do you want to go? Do you have legal connections in the market you would like to move to? Most schools outside of T14 will be regional, Camden included.

Highly competitive (numbers are in profile). Just curious as to what's going on over there.

Your numbers are probably too high. They want to protect their matriculation rate.

I've emailed them twice to see if they would match my RU-N offer but haven't heard anything back. It's been awhile. I'm going to be in Philly on the 17th so I guess I will stop by the school in case I hear from them sometime.

I got into the other state schools. Not something I'm stressing over, I'm just wondering what's taking them so long to give me an answer of any kind.

I would like to eventually end up in the DMV area, specifically D.C. If I go to Rutgers though, I would assume my first job would be in Philly or South Jersey because I want to practice employment law in a corporate firm. I have ties in almost every employment sector in Camden but the legal community. I honestly have met and formed relationships with more attorneys in the D.C. region than my own hometown. I guess if I end up at Rutgers I will have to just lateral in to a different market once this family stuff settles over.

In today via e-mail with $5,000/yr. I was complete for one day. They are really trying to steal me away from Newark! I am really partial to the north jersey area where my family is from, plus the 3.33 stip is pretty harsh. I guess I have some thinking to do.

Idk if they're checking out this thread or something but I got the admission e-mail today. 12K/year with a 3.5 stipulation (ouch).
