Honestly I was surprised at how the university area was actually pretty nice. I was expecting Camden North (I'm from Philly).

University Heights and the adjacent business district are really nice compared to Camden; although I did feel fairly safe in Camden's University District as a result of all of the security forces. The only complaints I've ever heard about Newark are how eerily quiet and abandoned the area is after business hours. However, the city is enticing developers to convert more buildings into apartments and condo's to try to counter that. In a couple of years, I think Newark will be a hot spot due to its proximity to NYC and relatively low cost of living. Its gentrifying quickly.2LT_CPG wrote:Honestly I was surprised at how the university area was actually pretty nice. I was expecting Camden North (I'm from Philly).
Did you? I finally decided to take Camden over Newark the other day. It was a tough call and I put a lot of thought into it, but Philadelphia is just too tempting to pass up. A merger is a merger, a name change is a name change. Even if it goes through, and there is a lot of speculation that the law school will be saved, Rowan will still grant this year's incoming students the right to graduate with either name on the diploma. I'll probably be in my first job before anything is actually decided.2LT_CPG wrote:I lived in the Bronx for four years during undergrad, so I'm fine with living in a city like Newark or Camden. I put in a late application to Camden today, by the way.
While I'm sorry you're opting to go to RU-Camden over Newark, I wish you the best.mrtoren wrote:Did you? I finally decided to take Camden over Newark the other day. By the way, if, by some miracle, you decide to go to Camden over Newark, send admissions an email about your concern over the merger. They may not do it for everyone, but I was able to get a waiver for the $300 seat deposit. Completely free. I'll probably use that money for my housing deposit at the new 330 Cooper Street graduate student tower that they're just finishing.

This is what I'd do if I get in.stevepark309 wrote:also. if tuition is a problem for you at RU..join the national guard. tuition waiver full ride for me
I was deferred as well at the end of January. I have a similar GPA but slightly lower LSAT. Hopefully we hear back from them pretty soon but it seems that is unlikely. Rutgers is definitely one of my top choices and I'm debating whether or not to send in a LOCI.Beeg12 wrote:Deferred. Rutgers is a top choice. Unfortunately, as it seems from past years, the deferred list is pretty much like a wait-list. Will probably be stuck in limbo until the end of march/beginning of april. 2.35/162
congrats! i'm still on the WL (found out late jan) but have not sent in a LOCI or anything yet. the waiting game is not fun!wfudeacons2005 wrote:In via e-mail! 3.43/154...applied PT. I will say that I also have a little bit of an extra hook in that my mother is an adjunct prof at the school this semester. But, in addition to that, I did send them an LOCI stating how interested I was in the school and that really seemed to help.bmarc1117 wrote:wfudeacons2005 wrote:In via e-mail!
