Yeah Status Checker shows that they got my verification, so I'm just waiting to go complete at this point.

So I just got my acceptance email. However I did not get any scholarship email so I am guessing I didn't get one. However, I was accepted to Hofstra as well and they gave me 10K. They are both ranked the same on USWNR. Should I ask for money and mention my Hofstra scholarship? I am a NY state resident if I do get the 10K from Rutgers should I choose Hofstra or rutgers??

Congratulations on your acceptance!

OL here, still waiting to hear back from Rutgers. I also got into Hofstra with scholarship and I am hoping to be making the same decision you are faced with as long as I hear positively from Rutgers. If you can get a 10k scholly from Rutgers that would put your total tuition at 12k/ year, since everything I've read says that out of state students can achieve in-state status for tuition with the signing of a 12 month lease prior to the start of the semester. Compare that with the 34k/ year AFTER scholarship at Hofstra and I say its a easy decision. Also, from the research I have done, the regional reputation of Rutgers lends itself to better employment statistics that Hofstra. That being said, I would choose Rutgers if they were both the same price. If money isn't a deciding factor than its Newark vs Hempstead for three years, which makes the decision a little trickier.

I checked on Rutgers Website and I could not find any info about the 12 month lease. Can you tell me where I can find that info please?

Just took a quick look but towards bottom I beleive it says that there is a petition and all that is necessary is a long term lease

I'm a 1L who moved to NJ right before school starts. All you need to get in-state tuition your first year is a copy of a 12 month lease, or you could sign a 12 month contract with their student housing. It is incredibly easy and hassle free. Literally, you hand the admissions office a copy of your lease, the check a box in their computer system, and you get in state tuition.

They say you need to do it before a certain date, but that's just for their convenience. I got switched to in-state on the first day of orientation. Additionally, I now of somebody who was able to switch to instate about a month into the semester and they refunded the difference between out of state and in state. So, unless they change their policy (which I am practically certain they won't) you will get in state your first year as long as you live in NJ.

I'm not sure why they make it so easy, but my policy has been not to question it. If you have any specific questions I suggest contacting the admissions office directly. They help so much it almost seems like they want you to be instate.

I was at the ASD and even though all I can do is try to give you peace of mind, she did say all you need to do is get a 12 month lease no later than early August to qualify for In state tuition.

Deferred today. Anyone know about this process as it relates to Rutgers? Would LOCI help?

Wondering this too. Was also deferred today. I wasn't expecting a favorable decision due to the long wait time I had (nearly 3 months). Have to admit, kind of surprised since my LSAT was pretty much on point and my GPA is way over 75th percentile. Guess you can't always predict lol

Wouldn't that be an ad homenim, saying he can't be a judge of someone's typo because he himself put down a typo?

Or have I been so removed from the LSAT I'm getting my shit confused?

So I was deferred a few days ago (same email blast as most of you). Here's my question: Is it still possible for me to request a 1 yr deferment (if I eventually get in), or do you have to be accepted outright to qualify for a 1 yr deferment? I know that most of the time you need to be outright accepted in order to request a 1 yr attendance deferment... not sure if anyone has any intel on this reference Rut-New specifically? Thanks.

After navigating around their website it looks like Rutgers Newark doesn't grant deferrals. But I see from your other posts that you're in the military - would you be requesting the deferral for military service? If so, there is a military exception.

Side note, I had a ton of fun as a cadet when I played a G at Robin Sage!

I wonder how long it will take to get the email. Couldn't find any indication in this thread.
