That should be obvious.

Plus the southern ugliness really doesn't fly in the liberaterian southwest.

I've kept my wait list spot at ASU...just in case.

You would take Emory over ASU? Atlanta doesn't get up to 110 degrees.

BTW, congratulations!
If it were me, I'd take Emory WITHOUT QUESTION. There is very little reason to think that this massive rankings bump will be maintained, whereas Emory has been considerably more consistent. Not to mention the increased market strength of Emory.

If you REALLY want to practice in AZ, then ASU is the place for you (although Emory would also get you in the door here). ***Full disclosure*** I've lived in AZ for 3 years now, and between the weather and the people, I cannot wait to get the heck out of here!
The bolded is what's true. No way I'd take Emory over ASU if I want AZ. No way.
I definitely didn't mean to imply that Emory would have a better shot in the PHX market, just that it wouldn't be impossible to get your foot in with an Emory degree.

I understood what you meant, man. I was just emphasizing one of your points. :)

For anyone like me, still waiting for a decision, I just spoke with Admissions and they said "no decision yet, but the committee hopes to have all final decisions made within a week".

I walked by the admissions office 20 minutes ago. There was a pile of packets getting ready to be mailed, and the admissions committee was meeting with at least a few people and there were piles of paper on the table.

Methinks they are doing the wait list actively.

I dunno...Kathy told me the other day that most of their wait list activity doesn't occur until June or July. I'd love to know if I got in though or not, as it would complicate my decision about Emory.

How come Favre is the one that gets to trade with you?
If I would have known you would be willing to trade an Emory for an ASU, I would have applied to Emory.

BTW, Congrats. Practice putting your head in the oven at 120 degrees so you get used to Phoenix. Throw in some dust too.

A couple of practice runs at +120 is beneficial as well. Gives an idea of what it's like to hop in your car after it's been in the sun all day.

I had a black Mustang with a black convertible top and black leather in high school, and by lunch time it was a lot hotter than 120, probably closer to 140-150.

That is because they don't always answer their phone when I call them to tell them how horrible their law school is, and then demand to know why they haven't admitted me yet.

and there were piles of paper on the table.

Those would be the rejection papers. Which was larger, the papers or the packets?

When I called to talk with them they said they hadn't finished reviewing all the applications. They didn't say they hadn't finished offering acceptances, which would have been the proper response to the question I asked.

I can't be sure. From the looks of the paper (I only got a glance) they were piles of ~10-15 pages stapled together. I think they were looking at applications.

The packets were clearly admitted student packets.
