My thoughts exactly. I have already started studying for the LSAT again, planning on retaking in October - unless that surprise admission offer from ASU shows up. I figure as soon as I quit obsessing/agonizing over this process a decision one way or another will be immediately rendered (either that or time will just pass more quickly making it seem as such).Solieyu wrote: Maybe if I resign myself to waiting a year... an admittance letter will be a pleasant surprise. Like the drink you forgot about in the car in the morning and are overjoyed to find when you come back in the afternoon (if its not summer).

How does ASU feel about retakes anyway? I was less than pleased with my 166 after scoring in the 170s on every practice test I took. I have to assume that my score was anomalous and a retake would show a regression towards the mean.

From what I understand they will use the highest score when making determinations for admission; but, whether the existence of multiple scores has an affect on the decision-making process, I have no clue.

They didn't seem to mind it with me. I was accepted and offered the same amount as others who had similar stats and only one score.Solieyu wrote:How does ASU feel about retakes anyway? So, Favrefire, did you ever talk with Dean Soto yesterday?

U of Texas is moving people off their waitlist yesterday and today, it looks like a lot. This should mean that a few more seats open up at ASU.

She called at 9 but I didn't get a chance to talk. Hopefully will call back again tonight.

I went to the LSAC forum here in Chicago today and asked what the deal was with the wait list for y'all, marisol told me the were happy with the class they had, and will only move if people jump ship.

Doesn't this mean that ASU is the only law school in the Nation that won't go to their waitlist?
I would like to know their class size. What is it going to be, 100?

Well, even if this is the case, chances are there will be at least some people who withdrawal over the next few weeks especially if they are on a waitlist elsewhere and receive a better offer. Do we know if anyone has been rejected from the waitlist yet?

I spoke with Kathy a little while ago and . . . no movement on waitlist as of yet. Anticipated review of waitlist candidates will occur at the end of the month, and thereafter an email should be sent with regard to status. Although, she did mention that this "status update" would not necessarily be accompanied with any admission offers, we could be told to wait a little longer - again. Oh well, either way we should know something soon.

I told her who I was at the beginning of the conversation - do you think they make a note in your file everytime you send an email or call?PolySuyGuy wrote:jennbear wrote:I spoke with Kathy a little while ago and . . . no movement on waitlist as of yet. Maybe with emails, I can't imagine they would with calls.

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
I had an acquaintance stop by the admissions office and ask them questions for me this last week. My interpretation of the answers.
1. They are currently happy with their class
2. They expect to matriculate ~20% less students than last year. 168 135 students.
3. Accepted between 550-600 students
4. Won't even consider the waitlist until last week of July first week of August
5. Scholarship email didn't work. No students that they know of changed their minds.
6. If have to go to waitlist, could be up until the first day.

I wonder if this can be real or just what they are told to convey. It doesn't seem very likely that a school can survive financially with only 135 students. Hopefully something happens because I would much rather attend there next year than U of A

Actually that was my first thought too.
However the U of A went from 158 students in 2010 to 137 students in 2011 and there is a rumor they are going to around 125 this year.
While ASU went from 191 in 2010 to 168 in 2011 to ~135 in 2012.

Maybe they think fewer students will help boost/hold their rankings.

I still think they will go to the waitlist, even if it is a few days before the semester starts (but this may be just false hope).

That is what I am thinking too.
I don't think they have a good clue about how many people will be attending this fall yet.
Everyone I talk with and everything I read about the ASU admissions office tells me they are dysfunctional and not very organized.
I gave up calling them and contacting them months ago because every time I called or emailed I got a different answer from a different person.

Don't you think it is strange that the higher their rank is the worse their students do on the bar exam?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
