Where do most students/upperclassmen live?
How long is the commute to Harrisburg (car, public transportation)?
Are there any decent gyms in the area aside from Golds?

I appreciate any help
1) Most students live in the area/within a few blocks of the law school. If you look on the DSL website in the "Housing" area you'll see a list of available apartments. My building has a opening for next year, PM me if you want details.

2) Depends exactly where you're going in Harrisburg, but generally 20-30 minutes. Usually no traffic either, which is nice. There is a public bus that runs back and forth, not exactly sure on the hours, but I know that the last bus back to Carlisle leaves around 5pm, so getting back is the tricky part.

3) Yes, several gyms. The Dickinson College gym is OK, I hear it's pretty small. And while the price is good, I pay almost exactly the same at Planet Fitness ($10 a month with a $30 yearly fee) and get a lot more space and equipment. Golds is another option, and there is a YMCA too, but that's expensive from what I've found (but you do get a lot of classes/other bonuses than just the gym).

Got an email asking me to call the admissions office and discuss my application, was accepted over the phone. To those on the waitlist, do yourself a favor and contact the admissions office just to ask questions/start dialogue. Whatever appropriate topic you can think of, as long as you can get it into their head that you want to go to Penn State.

They will take notice...

P.S. - I will be attending.
Got this email last night but when I called, no one picked up.
Even at 5k/yr I will be hardpressed to attend due to personal finances.
Did you have to ask for the money an do you think they will negotiate?
Also, how are the job prospects out of PSU? The 41% at graduation is kind of scary.

I just sent off my deposit last week. They offered $7500/yr, which certainly helped make the decision that much easier. Looking forward to moving down to Carlisle at the end of the summer.

In off of WL - 5k/year.

As an international student, I had just gotten my loans approved for another t3 school that gave me a half ride when I got the email today. My question is: Should I try negotiating even a slight bump of my scholarship amount since I had been all set to go to the T3 until PSU's email today.

Would that be the best way to start negotiating?

Also does anyone know if there is any room in White Counsel grad dorms remaining? I would love to be someone's suite-mate if ppl need a 2nd/3rd/4th person lol
