I've already withdrawn but just as an FYI, withdrawing at this point won't affect your cycle in any way except possibly where money is concerned. Schools know that they have to accept a certain number of people to fill a class in UConn's case about 1600 to get 200. So just because a few people withdraw prior to the deposit deadline it doesn't improve your chances. After the deposit deadline is when they'll re-evaluate based on the number of people that deposited. Don't guilt people into withdrawing because even if they're sure they're 99% going elsewhere there might still be that 1% chance they'll go to UConn and you get nothing out of getting them to withdraw. I was accepted back in December with a full scholarship and just withdrew last week because I was emotionally attached to UConn, to the scholarship and to the people at UConn that I had met. Likewise, others could be experiencing the same thing.

That is what their dean said at the Open House she was very open about the number of acceptances they'd need to send out to get that many people in.

Yours might have been a lot more like the exception to the rule or perhaps Rutgers just does things differently but the majority of people that end up on a waitlist don't hear back until after deposit deadlines have passed. And the majority of people that haven't been decided on won't be affected because some people withdrew because in general they accept a relatively large pool knowing that people will withdraw.

Also, I don't think that 2025 counts the part-timers but I might be mistaken.

Oh ok, it's definitely possible that I could've missed one of the numbers. Maybe she said they were expecting 1600 apps, had to accept a certain percentage and would get 200 matriculants.

Oh I agree...I think part of me is just hoping that we hear something sooner because I want some certainty. But realistically I realize this is probably going to drag into April or May.

Yeah I am pretty certain they won't re-evaluate their waitlist until late April/early May considering their blatant procrastination and douchebaggery for making people wait longer than usual.

Sorry, if you can't tell, I'm super bitter being on the waitlist and just waiting for them to actually make a decision. If the Cardozo May program accepts me, I will probably have to choose to attend there before I even hear from UConn, and this makes me a sad, sad panda.

For anyone trying to negotiate with UCONN, make sure you check the math they send you back. They used the regional rate for me when comparing my other offers instead of the out of state rate. They corrected it once I caught them but just double check.

They're not done finalizing all scholarship offers. Plus, there are a few of us that have withdrawn lately with good scholarships (mine was full tuition, someone else was too) if you really want to go to UConn wait a few more weeks.

Also, I'm sure if you e-mail Dean DeMeola (who is incredibly nice) she might be able to tell you if they're still considering you for scholarship money.

So their deposit deadline is probably when money will be freed up then. Worth waiting if they're your #1.

When I saw that out-of-state tuition for the upcoming academic year rose to $47,000+ I nearly fainted. Thank goodness for the first year scholarship...

Those numbers don't look too bad considering C/O 2011 was supposed to be the hardest hit. I'm surprised that only 179 people graduated (I thought they had slightly bigger classes) and am wondering what the 6% percent of people who are not looking for a job are doing.
