Anyone have any luck leveraging more scholarship money? I got a decent offer today, but I have another full ride offer from a local school and was curious if that would help me snag a few more dollars.

Re: Cincinnati 2011-2012 Cycle
I spoke with someone a few days ago. It was a very good conversation, was incredibly helpful. He was interested in my offer from a local serious competitor (UK), but was pretty firm that offers from other local schools (NKU and Dayton in particular) are not really schools they are willing to negotiate about considering the caliber of schools. My offer was decent, $25,500 and I'm in state. Still was hoping to get a bit more, will see what happens with OSU. I still have my name in the hat at OSU and Duke (because that's likely...hey we're supposed to apply to at least one reach school, right?). He seemed pretty optimistic about negotiating with OSU when I mentioned I was applying there. He seemed very rational and seemed to show little interest in budging over a few thousand dollars. He was very up front about moving costs to Lexington, especially considering my husband would relocate with me. Putting it in perspective, he seemed willing to negotiate if the right offer came along, but funds are getting tight. This is very unlike UK which established that there was absolutely no room for negotiations unless you are in state (not sure what to think about that exactly).
Good luck!
Good luck!

If anyone has questions about the area/campus/UC in general, feel free to pm me. I do not know many specifics about the law school though.

If anyone can, report back on how the event goes tomorrow for those of us who cannot attend.

Went to the ASD today. Felt really good! Discussed a lot of programs with a heavy emphasis on the Ohio Innocence Project. Explained in great detail the law reviews, metro rate, financial aid, etc. If anyone has any questions hit me up!

Surprised to see UC drop below Kentucky in the rankings, but we are talking a few places and regional TT rankings.

I was giving 7K per year and after emailing them they increased the first year amount to 8k. I was very disappointed.

No problem and yes I sent in offers from Uk and Louisville after they asked for them. Wish I would have waited for my scholarship information to come in from Ohio St. I visited their open house last week and enjoyed it, but I just don't think it is in my budget.

Did you get a decent offer from OSU? I spoke with Dean Watson afte receiving and offer of 16k per year from OSU. My offer at UC stands at well below that. I'm hopeful that he would be able to work around that.blaze_2123 wrote:No problem and yes I sent in offers from Uk and Louisville after they asked for them. I received 9k per year from OSU. I tried to get more from Cincy, but they did not give me any more. I think I am UK bound.

Hey Guys...
Current 1L at UC here. Just thought I'd stop by and say hi and see if we have anyone with any questions or anybody who's sure they are coming to UC next year. Feel free to PM me.

Disappointing. UC initially was fairly reluctant to offer more to me as well, but ended up coming back with a fantastic offer that makes me UC bound. I am incredibly excited! My final decision was honestly based on the OIP, it seems like such an amazing program.blaze_2123 wrote:I received 9k per year from OSU.
