Just received:
As you probably heard, Tuesday we made a very significant mistake involving the release of admissions data in an email sent to a group of fall 2012 accepted applicants. Regardless of whether a final decision has been made on your application, we want to make sure no one is needlessly concerned that his or her data was included. The email at issue was sent only to admitted applicants who potentially had been prevented from paying their fall seat deposits by April 1 due to a problem with the University's online payment system. Unfortunately, we inadvertently attached to that email a document containing personal information about that group. The attachment did not contain social security numbers or birth dates. Nevertheless, the information included was personal and we deeply regret the error.

We recognize that our high standards of professionalism require us to treat all student data with the greatest degree of confidentiality and we acknowledge that we failed to live up to those standards in this matter. As soon as possible after learning of the error on Tuesday, we sent an email to every applicant whose information was included in the attached document to notify them and to apologize. Due to the sensitive nature of the information that was contained in the attachment, we asked the recipients of the email to treat the attached document as confidential, just as they would as a lawyer, and delete the information.

We made a mistake that we sincerely regret. We apologize for any concerns caused by our action. Steps have been taken to ensure that such a mistake is not made in the future.

We are trying to avoid duplicate emails; however, because many of our applicants apply to multiple entering classes, it is possible you will receive more than one notification regarding this matter. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this matter, you may contact me by calling (254) 710-4822, or Nicole Masciopinto, Director of Admissions, by calling (254) 710-3239.

I'm accepted and am considering it, but the fact that Baylor's tuition has been spiking a consistent $3,000-$4,000 for the past few years scares me to no end.

This school has one of the best reputations in the state, has fantastic faculty, and is the gold standard for trial lawyering...But unless they were willing to offer me an adjusted scholarship, I'm not sure if I could afford it.
