I should definitely be there for a good deal of them. I want to visit the school and want to see if I can get some more money from them or at least get them to relax that top 50% stip on my scholly. That, and I love free booze and food.
+1, but -1 for liverpool
It's all good... I'm just glad you gents didn't show up for the Carling Cup Semis, it might be the only chance at silverware we get this year.

Btw, has anyone else noticed how much hate there is for Seton Hall on TLS? I feel like there has to be some Seton Hall students on here that like the school... I have a friend who pays sticker (not smart, but whatever) at SH as a 1L and he loves it there. No one has really explained to me why there is a core group of people that just HATE SH and they don't even affiliate themselves with it.

I submitted 11/28, and was admitted 2/6. Hopefully you hear some good news.

I am new to this forum, but need the opinions of you guys here. I applied to Seton Hall, and was wait listed with a 151 and 3.8 GPA. When being wait listed I had an alumni from the class of 74 contact the admissions office. The office suggested he contact the dean, which he did. This is the response that he received from the Dean. Is this a good sign to possibly get off the wait list?

Dear XXXX,

It always nice to hear from our alums and how well they are doing.

Thank you for your recommendation of Jonathan XXXX. I have informed the Admissions Committee of my interest in Jonathan's application.

Sincerely,
Patrick E. Hobbs

Admitted PT and I'm in the process of trying to negotiate some sort of scholarship. If anyone is interested, they review scholarship appeals on or around March 1st according to the response I got from admissisions so I'm guessing it'd be good to get a letter in soon of you are planning on it. Just a heads up.

Hey Guys. I hope everyone is doing well. This is just a quick favor to all of those who pretty much know they will not be attending Seton Hall. Would you be kind enough to withdraw your application at your earliest convenience? I know there are many on this board who aspire to attend Seton Hall, and it would go along way for us if you could do this.

Thanks much guys and I wish everyone the best.

Exactly what he said... It was definitely a huge "talking point". Not sure why that would make anyone concerned tho. The figures are listed on their website so I dont think they are trying to hide stuff.

Packet came today. $25,000 per year, top half stip. Much better than I expected considering my numbers.

You don't mind sharing those do you? I just want to gauge how much wiggle room I might have with the scholarship negotiations.

Is anyone going to the Merit Scholar dinner on March 16th along with the champagne brunch reception on the morning of March 17th? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't stoked to pregame at Seton Hall on St. Patty's Day.

Before i withdrew they said they were going out pre-approved $250 and $150 travel stipends, but admissions had to approve it or something, I don't know. I would call admissions and ask.

Yeah what LA Fish said is right. I received a card detailing the stipends in the mail along with my invite to the merit scholar events. Definitely try calling the admissions office to see what the deal is with obtaining the stipends.

I take it that people looking at Seton Hall aren't really on TLS, huh... either that or they got scared away by the constant SHU trolling that exists on this site.

Anybody visiting next weekend?

Yep! Visting next week and very seriously considering attending. I was going to start a Seton Hall 2015 thread but there's almost no interest on here for SHU.
Yeah I notice that any "interest" comes from haters of the school... no sense in drawing any more attention from that crowd. See you at ASD on March 16, the dinner at night in Hell's Kitchen and/or the champagne brunch on St. Patty's Day?

I was really impressed with Seton Hall this weekend... they really rolled out the red carpet and it just felt right. I didn't think I would be sitting in the NJ Devils Owner's box and meeting the owner this weekend, but they made it happen. I also like that they are being transparent with their numbers, even if the picture is somewhat bleak. While most of the NYC area schools are getting sued, Seton Hall remains untainted by such lawsuits. I also got the impression that their transactional law profs are pretty solid. Moreover, they seem to really try to make students happy and I've yet to hear actual current students that I know really dislike anything about the place (my friends that go there would give me candid critiques if they had any). I think I will probably end up going here unless I get in at WUSTL through some miracle.
