FWIW, I checked last year's thread, and there was some jockeying at the end of the cycle, but nothing like this.

Don't really want to work in NYC or I might have reconsidered anyway, though.

Nope, waiting for it, as well as the pt summer stillCLW8131 wrote:anyone see any movement on the ft wait list?
I wonder why they aren't moving on to accepting wait-listed people and are instead offering full rides to people who already withdrew...................
I was hoping there would be a lot more room after people withdrew, but now they're trying to lure them back in with more money, I bet it's affecting the wait-list

Re: Cardozo 2011-2012 Cycle
I wonder if this is in response to their drop in the USNWR rankings (they were barely T1, but the 6 spot slide ended that). Bringing in people with higher stats means a higher placement in the rankings. I certainly expected negotiations back and forth and the jockeying that results from that, but trying to pull people back in who already withdrew? Law school applications are down, and I bet schools are doing more this year then they ever have to pull in the best candidates they can. I wonder if this unique to Cardozo or if other schools are experiencing the same drop and are responding in a similar fashion?

If I can negotiate up to 35k from a sudden 25k, I'm going to highly consider it.hadisious wrote:Jeez. I negotiated up to 32k, but now I feel like I shoulda just withdrawn. Woulda got a full ride :-\
How did you negotiate? Email or phone call?

Were you previously offered nothing? Also do you mean they gave you 25k yesterday and they bumped it up to 35k right after you contacted them?KibblesnBitts wrote:If I can negotiate up to 35k from a sudden 25k, I'm going to highly consider it.hadisious wrote:Jeez. Recently got my schoarlship raised from 30 to 40, with a gpa stipulation of 2.95. Anyone have an idea of how hard that gpa stipulation is to maintain? I think I read somewhere that Cardozo curves to a 3.1, so it doesnt sound too bad, but wanted to get some feedback.

How did you ask in the email? This is actually the first time I'm trying to up my negotiations through a non face-to-face medium...hadisious wrote:Via email. Just be honest and up front about financial concerns etc. They know this is a big decision for all. These two links will help you quite a bit:KibblesnBitts wrote:How did you ask in the email? Those of us who got the new offers have until May 1st to deposit. If you are on the WL, I would think there will be some activity shortly after...CLW8131 wrote:breaks my heart a little bit that i have pledged my devotion to cardozo and they are only going after those who turned them down...
