Texas Tech 2012

Post by ineptimusprime » Fri Nov 04, 2011 12:50 pm

Are there any other Texas Tech applicants on here? I've been complete since September and still no movement on my app.

I'm assuming that's normal.

Applying. I'm actually here for a UG moot court tournament. I have been coming here for 3 years for this tournament and I have come to love their law school. However, without a full ride I do not think I will attend Tech. Good luck to everyone!

I applied yesterday. disappointing to hear you've had no movement yet. i've already been contacted by another school that i applied to, so I was falsely expecting all of them to move quickly.

I applied here 4 years ago. They took forever, and the only admissions person I ever spoke to was tipsy at a prospective student event where she told me "oh yea, I've got a huge stack of apps on my desk." Then, I paid $10 for parking b/c TTU didn't pay to have parking validated for their guests. 3 months later, they offered me a full ride. Absolutely true story.

Anyhoo, I got the impression their admission department is not the best. Of course, this is not indicative of the overall quality of the law school.

Every experience I have had with Tech has been outstanding. If advocacy programs are your thing then Tech is an absolutely perfect choice. How much they emphasize moot court and mock trial is impressive. They really take pride in it.

They've hired a new assistant dean of admissions since then - Dean Perez. He's AWESOME. Every contact I had with the admissions office last year was prompt, friendly, and helpful.

In other news, I'm a 1L here and love it, message me if you have any questions!

Tech doesn't begin to review apps until the middle of this month. They first look at the binding early decisions before getting to any of the other applications.

Got an email yesterday about a question I somehow didn't answer on my application about residency, it is now fixed on my status checker but it still says file incomplete. :?: :?:

On Texas Tech's status checker: "Early Decision applicants have priority and will be reviewed before Regular Decision applicants. We know waiting is stressful, but try to chillax."

This makes me really like Tech right now.

Yep. Pretty much sealed it for me. I will be "chillaxing" in luboock next year if I have it my way.

Texas Tech sent me a nice email today, telling me they are beginning to review applications.

I got an e-mail from them, but it didn't explicitly say they were reviewing them right now.. I kind of inferred as much though.

Are any of you binding Early Decision applicants? I would assume they won't review any RD until they're done with all the ED.

Gracias!
