Re: Ohio State Applicants (2011-12) Cycle
As you're all making your decisions, keep in mind that it's easier in Ohio to get residency for 2L and 3L than it is in many other states, so your tuition will likely decrease after 1L if you're OOS

This is borderline insulting for a tier 1 law school. The table of contents starts at 1 while the actual guide starts at 13, OSU you were in my top 3...

+1. It was the right choice going there for me, but I was surprised they didn't negotiate. I forgot about the IU offer too...sigh.Lwoods wrote:Ditto. But I found that my favorite part of ASW was talking to the current students...so I'd be happy to meet with anyone and answer questions, etc! Just PM me
Also ditto Duke Silver re negotiations. I had better offers from both Illinois and Indiana, both T25s (at the time, anyway...), and they didn't budge. I ended up choosing OSU anyway, for a reason that no longer exists, but ultimately I feel it was the best choice. It's still relatively inexpensive, Columbus has more to offer than Bloomington and Champaign, and OSU does better/has less competition in Ohio for the bottom half of their classes than Illinois and Indiana do in their respective states. I think as far as non-T14 Midwestern schools go, it's hard to find much more bang for your buck than OSU has to offer.

I've been under review since 11/16, anyone else in a similar situation? Any idea when we'll hear anything?

Under review since 11/18. I emailed Jimmi Nicholson (Assistant Director of Admissions), and she said that those applications completed in November are now currently under review and that we should be hearing soon.

Holding my breath! It doesn't seem like they have made very many decisions yet, no?

Yes unless it's an error. You should be getting a phone call if you're admitted...followed by an email. I got a phone call before my status checker changed.Eastcoast77 wrote:I have an admitted students guide under mailings in my status checker as of today 2/9 . Does this mean acceptance?

the email usually comes a day or two later..i missed my call but they let me know i got in when i checked my voicemail. But the admitted guide posted in your status checker is a very good indication that you got in. Hopefully, it's not an error.Eastcoast77 wrote:I got a phone call and missed it only a voicemail saying they would call back and I have not gotten an email

Did anybody create an tOSU class of 2015 thread yet? Interested to see who is planning to attend. I'm about 95% sure I'm going, just waiting to visit campus in person to make the final call.

Has everyone received their scholarship info by now? I was accepted 1/26 and haven't heard anything about financial aid yet...

Visited OSU Moritz yesterday. I really enjoyed my visit. It was really informative, especially with their financial aid rep. If I get even a half decent scholarship, I will definitely give OSU a large amount of consideration.

Being TLSers, I'm sure you all would have found this info soon if you haven't already, but always a good idea I think to share relevant information when I can. This is OSU's detailed employment stats for class of 2010.

So I guess a handful of admitted students are coming here this afternoon. Will any of you be among them?

In today via phone call. Scholly info in the coming weeks, which will determine whether or not I actually choose Moritz. Hopefully though...
