When I spoke with Nazreen (financial aid) she said they would be sending it out sometime this month.

Good to know, thanks!

By the way, she didn't happen to mention the range of grant aid they're planning to give out this year, did she?

She did not. She was very helpful over the phone, so I'm sure if you have any questions she'd answer them for you.

2 years ago parking was free at the Radisson. Can't say for sure if it still is.

Damn you, Shatner! Priceline keeps sticking me with these places that overcharge for parking. Last time I was in Irvine I thought I was getting an awesome deal at the Hyatt Regency and then BAM: $15/night for parking. Same thing this time with the Crowne Plaza. Boo!

Not sure if you know about biddingfortravel.com, but they are usually good at letting you know how low you can bid and posters will sometimes help with figuring out if you will be stuck with parking charges (or once you know which hotels you might be placed at you can look them up and see if you are likely to get stuck with parking). If I have to pay parking I adjust my bid accordingly. But I think I just used the UCI rate for Radisson when I stayed there and you probably have a better deal even factoring in parking.

+1 for biddingfortravel.com. Don't use Priceline without it.

Yah I use bidding traveler but that just seemed to be a rough weekend for bids - not sure if there are other things going on or what. Last time, I got a $200 room for $60 down there pretty easily. This time, they didn't even have the 4 stars available for bidding (#1stworldproblems).

Law books....check
Beach towel....check
Beach cruiser....check

Yup, I'm ready (hopefully I don't get too distracted by studying all the "torts").

Hi all. Another admit here.

Just fyi, when I visited last week (3/2) I was told by an admissions officer that they received twice as many apps this cycle than they did in the last one. And that was the morning after the deadline, so imma assume it's fairly accurate.

I bet it has to do with having 1) provisional aba accred and 2) apps being available on lsac.

Anyways, that sounds good in terms of making sure that the school remains on the same competive track it had in the first 3 years.

Hearing that helped ease my fears.

I'm 95% sure I will be an anteater come august (30k/yr scholly helps). So, I'll likely be seeing some of you.

Grats on the scholly! Thanks for the input, too.

RSVD'd to ASW yesterday! I'm between UCI and a few of the lower T-14s.

Anyone know if UCI requesting verifying documents for financial aid and the resulting holdup will have any effect on how much and what kind of aid I'd get?

As a Veteran to the UCs, I'd say it depends. If you qualify for a lot of aid, you will be "randomly" selected for verification. Not sure how random it can be if it happens to you every year. In any case, the extra stuff I had to do was not a lot of work, but I still haven't heard back. Though I don't think anyone else have actually gotten their financial aid packets yet (Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong). However, I'd say it will probably be coming out soon since the FAFSA deadline is long behind us now.

Oh and I don't think it'd take you too long to submit in order to impact the kind of aid you'd get. But then again I don't work there, so I'm not 100% on this.

Hope this helps!

Not honestly sure which I prefer:

or

Also, in the interest of adding something useful to the discussion, I just got an e-mail about the schedule for ASW and the reading for the mock class...interesting stuff (all reading next year is going to be that short...right? ....Right? Haha...)
