Received decision week of 2/27 but still no scholarship information ... Anyone else in the same boat?

FYI: I called the financial aid office today to ask about my financial aid/scholarship application. I submitted my supplemental form on 2/29, and the very friendly guy at the office told me that they sent out my letter on Tuesday. Kind of odd I haven't received it, because I live in California and should have gotten it by now... but he also said to call back if I don't receive anything in the next few days.

I was accepted 2/8, so you might get yours fairly soon, esp if you did the applications earlier than I did...

Thanks for sharing! I submitted my fin aid forms on 3/01 so hopefully I receive them soon- also live in CA

It means you were admitted/denied. If you were waitlisted it would have changed on the status checker to "waitlist"

I also received 20k/year! SC is my first choice (I'm getting the deposit together right now) so even if they had given me $0 I would've accepted... Woot!

Anyone know if this scholarship amount is the norm for admits with LadyDM's numbers? Looking at her TLS profile, she is at roughly 75th GPA/slightly below 25th LSAT.

History tells us that USC (and UCLA) place significant value on GPA. I think I'm the reverse of LadyDM -- 75th LSAT and 25th GPA -- was accepted early Feb and have not heard peep about scholarship.

'In Final Review' as of yesterday. Guess they updated my status checker sometime after I stopped looking at it... USC is the only one I'm left waiting on right now, so I hope they give me a verdict sometime soon.

It's a major that often focuses on media literacy, race, gender, sexuality issues, law, journalism, and relationships. It's quite a broad major, but it was a fantastic major. I loved every course and every moment of it. It's changed my life, you can say! =)

I was very surprised too (like I said, I was expecting NOTHING). I'm not really a URM, since I'm Asian (though I'm Vietnamese, and that REALLY is a URM), but they don't care about that stuff. I am poor, so they do take that into account, but their scholarship website doesn't give money based purely on need. I really think a part of my acceptance was my personal statement (Dean Reid said she liked it) , so I'm guessing part of the scholarship offer is the PS too. >shrug< I really don't know what to tell yall.

ETA: I'm a splitter with GPA at 25% and LSAT 171. I hope other splitters have better luck, but I'm starting to believe the theory about USC preferring reverse splitters...

I don't that is the case-- I got $0. Are you going to try to negotiate with other offers you've received?

@ Lady DM I am envious. I am also Viet, similar numbers...but alas nothing.

Now it's USC with $0 or UCI with $15k and I am in the process of negotiating for more...sigh...
