Can't believe I'm doing this, being a Baltimore resident my whole life, but I'm withdrawing from UM-B. Heading off to University of Illinois instead. Hopefully one of you waitlisted TLSers gets the spot! Good luck everyone!

Has anyone been contacted for an interview for the Leadership Scholars Program? Do you know if it covers tuition in part or in full, or varies? The email simply states that if awarded the program provides "tuition support."

the scholarship program varies in the amount of money it gives. it could be a full but for most people it's partial

it varies, but anecdotally the trend is indicative of most offers being towards the lower $ end, and not full rides. they lost state support for scholarships and now it's all donor-based, i believe.blurose wrote:Has anyone been contacted for an interview for the Leadership Scholars Program? I'm hoping to see some movement to acceptance status for waitlistees this week. UMD remains my #1 choice, and I really can't see myself attending any other institution at this point given my current employment situation. I was reading some forums for others schools and there seemes to be plenty shifting going on with schools pulling students off the waitlist.
When do you guys think we will see some shifting? I'm hoping soon...

hopefully this week. I heard from American last week and had to put down a deposit so I knew I was going somewhere. Want UMD tho so hopefully it works out. LSN was showing some admitted people withdrawing so it seems that some movement is taking place.

I would have to think they'll start accepting people from the part-time waitlist soon, as it's now mid-May. Hopefully some spots will open up with the movement on the waitlist at other schools. I'm not sure when the second seat deposit is due but hopefully that will also open up some more seats. I think Maryland's yield rate is higher for part-time applicants so who knows many seats will become available.lawyer211 wrote:I'm hoping to see some movement to acceptance status for waitlistees this week. And they started reviewing waitlisted applications in late April so at this point they probably have an idea of who they're going to accept off the waitlist if seats open up. Waiting until August would be painful.

It means that relative to the full-time program, the part-time program has a higher percentage of accepted applicants that choose to attend Maryland.lawyer211 wrote:Thanks, what does it mean when the yield rate is higher? Just wondering.. This definitely helped

Everyone's received a decision, right?

They've already accepted some people off the full-time waitlist and I sure as hell hope they accept some people from the part-time waitlist. I think some waitlist decisions went out around this time last year.aciv03 wrote:will they accept both full time and part time waitlist applicants? anyone know when waitlist decisions were released last year?

Re: Maryland Applicants c/o 2015
I really wish I could know what is going on at admissions at this point. I wanna know how many have people accepted UMD's offfers of admittance (ft/pt) and how many they anticipate taking off the waitlists for each. I'm hoping we all get a phone call with good news very soon.

Well, it's good to know Maryland's hard at work with t-shirts while waitlisters eagerly wait to hear from the school.h2oplyer7 wrote:Yay! I got a message for a Maryland t-shirt this morning. It's the little things that count.
Do you know when the deadline for the second seat deposit is?
