I'm glad you liked it!! I'm gonna be honest, I was excited about ASD. I wanted to know which ones were TLS people so I could wave at them frantically, but I restrained myself because I didn't want to scare anyone away from attending. I was part of a large group of current students who stood at the end of the buffet table and just stared at it and talked about ways we could make ourselves look like admitted students for free food. I remember they had some really good BBQ last year when I went.PurplePirate wrote:ASD was enjoyable. I've already attended two or three of them, so by now they all feel the same. What was different though is that I truly felt like I connected with other students. I met and hung out with four other students for much of the day, and by the end we were all pretty much set on attending in the fall.
What I will say is that almost everyone I talked to expressed some type of frustration with the admissions process. Though no one really complained too much about it (except once when someone expressed those feelings during the student panel... it was super awkward). I was told that UNC is so "slow" with their process because they truly take a holistic approach to applications. I tend to believe that.
I'm excited to attend in the fall. Good luck to all of you still awaiting a decision.
I'm really hoping I'm going to get to be a Dean's Fellow next year, which means I'll be hanging out with you guys at orientation and then having meetings with you and your small section throughout the year to pass all my invaluable wisdom about outlining, exams, what classes to register for for 2L, etc.
