I did it as a 0L and it was really beneficial for me.
I am a returning 3L TA if you have any questions.
Congrats to everyone.

So, I signed a lease today. An amazing apartment in the 150's a couple of streets away from the subway. It has laundry in the basement, a dishwasher, rent I can (kinda) afford, and plenty of closet space. Now I just need to drive the 3000 miles to move there with all of my stuff. In August.
And yes, I am buying an A/C unit the first day I get there.

Congrats on the apartment. Moving 3K sounds like quite the adventure.

An adventure, sure, but I wish it were a bit less of a hassle. Trying to get a lease agreement back over those 3k miles is apparently impossible for FedEx to accomplish. Eight hours late and counting.JCFindley wrote:Yeah, kind of a sobering email, isn't it?SDPalmTree wrote:$23,763.00

Dang, I just got the Kindle book last week. It's my subway reading for the month.JenDarby wrote:If you guys "need" (you don't really need to buy it or read it) that monet book for orientation this year, I have a new copy.
BTW, any idea when we find out our schedules? I have a minimal teaching gig (3 to 6 hours per week for 4 weeks, depending on my availability) plus I have to coordinate daycare and whatnot.... Getting antsy to pin things down.

It's called "Whose Monet?", and it's the "required" reading assignment for Orientation. It's an intro to the American legal system, using a dispute over a stolen Monet painting to illustrate. It's actually rather well-written. I think they list it somewhere in the admitted student website....dingbat wrote:Same here.ned wrote:Dang, I just got the Kindle book last week. I guess I need to read the website more often.
I would love to have the copy Jen if the offer is still open.

Thanks for the tip!MrSoOoFLy wrote:Don't blow off reading Whose Monet.
One of the essay questions on my 1st year property exam was based COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY off of Whose Monet. The only difference being that instead of a "stolen" painting, it was a "stolen" case of wine.
