if those #s in your profile are accurate, you'll prob get $20-30k/yr (haven't seen them offer more than $30k/year unless it's a full ride, of which they only give 2)

Has anyone ever left a voicemail in the general mailbox for admissions? How long does it usually take them to respond?

I was waitlisted late January. Do y'all suggest emailing in my LOCI or mailing it? I was thinking of just addressing it to Kathryn Espiritu and emailing it to her as an attachment?

The scholarships generally range from 5-25k (per the website and my experience). I imagine you'll get the 25k. I also imagine you will get as good and better offers from higher ranked schools.

Hey guys,

I was accepted last week and today Fordham sent me an Email saying that I was awarded $7500/yr for scholarship... Is there any room for negotiation and bring the scholly up a little (I'll be content with 12K-15K)? Schools like W&M are giving me much better offers, although I'm still waiting to hear from most other schools (I applied late).

Wait it out a bit, then in a month or so, give them a call, tell them all your offers, and ask for more money.

Spoke with admissions today about some questions I had (i.e.. curriculum changes, waitlist). I can't speak highly enough about the level of friendliness, candor and class exemplified by the office (over the phone). I have always held the school in high regard...as it is my first choice. However, never before has there been so much clarity then today. I am hoping for a miracle of opportunity to be a part of the Fordham community. As always, for those still waiting....hang in there and STAY POSITIVE because the program is worth it!!!

Can you comment on what they said regarding the waitlist?

Essentially that...although a few have been pulled off the WL, a great deal of consideration goes into providing a thorough and complete evaluation of applicants to become part of the incoming class...which results in reviews of WLers into the spring and even summer. 1Ls on this blog have also echoed the same sentiment.

Here is to hoping that my TLS name rings true for all of us that want to attend Fordham!! Good luck everyone still waiting!!

I definitely saw this in my experience with Fordham. I was a pretty weird case (splitter, long story gpa). They were really accessible to me and heard me out on a number of things. My advice to people on the waitlist who really want Fordham is to be sure to let them know that. I wrote 2 or 3 LOCI's, one of which I hand delivered. When I had a transcript update, I printed an unofficial transcript and sent it along with a letter recapping my achievements during the semester and some more about how much I like Fordham, etc. Also, I had done a lot of research about Fordham over the past few years, so I tried to speak specifically about the things I liked.

Take it for what it's worth. I do think it's a careful, thoughtful process at Fordham.

Hi everyone - I'm a 1L in the Evening Division. I was WL'd in March or so last year and received an acceptance mid-June. It's definitely a possibility if you continue to show your interest (e.g. I wrote an extra LOCI and submitted an additional letter of recommendation from a C-level executive at the company I work for).

If anyone has questions about the evening program or getting off the WL, just let me know here or via PM!

When they added your LOCI's to your file was there any change to your status or dates?

No. Status checker was radio silence from waitlist in dec. until admission last week.

I'm not saying it's impossible, just that judging from the website and the people I know its not very common. I imagine some of those 30k/yr people may have negotiated up from 25k, since it seems 5k is usually the schools give in negotiating situations.

That just sounds awesome! Fordham was not my first choice before but right now I really want to be part of it! Although given my financial situation I really need to consider a lot of things before attending. Anyway I'll certainly visit the campus and talk to the admission and financial aid people. Hope that miracle could happen to me too! Good luck with everyone who wishes to be c/o 2015!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
