When someone tries to paint other schools as being some bottom feeders only concerned with USNWR stats as if Fordham is above that I think it deserves to be pointed out that it is just the same as any other school, that is all.

I think the part time program for real working people is a great and unique contribution. Would have been splendid if it had just been for working people from the start.
Of course they care about the rankings - it would be suicidal not to care. That's why they made the changes to the Evening Program (I must have been unclear in the way I answered you.) Steve Brown is very open about this.
As to the bottom feeders comment... I must have missed something in the thread. Schools have to be worried about USNWR, period. (Well. Maybe not if you're Yale. lol.)
Evening Division was started for working people, as a way for them to go to law school at night. Over time, it morphed into something hybrid. As I understand it, the drive now is to return it to its roots - to the program it was intended to be. It's tough to balance work and school but incredibly rewarding - glad Fordham recognizes the value of the program and is taking steps to strengthen it.

Anyone know if it's mandatory to stay for the whole day of ASD activities if you go? Or is it normal for people to leave a little early? It's my only day in New York and I was thinking about leaving after the breakout sessions (or at least before the wine/cheese reception) and was just wondering if anyone here has gone to one and left early??

You can stay for only part of it and then leave...e-mail them in advance if you're going to be late, though, so they know to expect you after sign-in/registration has ended. I don't see why you should have a problem leaving early, seeing as you've already been admitted to Fordham :) ASDs are more about the schools impressing the students than vice versa.

Hey y'all. I was accepted on Friday evening to the part time program.

I'll be going to the accepted student day this weekend, anyone else?

I'm glad to see this...hope Fordham will never shut down the part-time program. As a working mom of two 2.5 yo, I will never have the option to do full-time anywhere. It is just my humble opinion...i think if they care about the stats, they can even have the same criteria for both divisions. I really hope they can keep the program, because people like me really need it.

I'll be attending the ASD this Sat as well. :)

I got my waitlist letter today. It reads "At this time, the Admissions Committee is unable to offer you a spot in the entering class but we are impressed by your credentials and are hoping to be able to extend you an offer later on in this admissions cycle"
Is this a generic letter, or do i stand a real shot here?

I got the same email back in December and haven't heard anything yet. I spoke to someone in the admissions office and they said the wailist isn't ranked and there is no way of knowing if/when you'll hear something. I'm not holding my breath. I'm taking half-tuition at UIUC and calling it a day

Hi guys!

I'm still stuck at 2/6 Complete on my online status. Do people just get a Waitlist or Reject letter by snail mail, or does it show up on the online status first? I really dont want to get a surprise snail mail with a big fat DENY to start my morning off at work...

Thanks for your time!

It's only been 3 weeks. A decision in that time frame is pretty rare. You're, most likely, going to get your decision via status checker. I got my WL notification via status checker on 2/14. I just got the snail mail follow up this past Saturday.

I've actually spent about five minutes of my life trying to decipher what was in those bags at the last ASD: --LinkRemoved--

Looks like really thick graphing calculators, which would be cool and all (I guess), but something tells me that's not it... Does anyone know what they are? Any ideas if we'll get Fordham Law shirts?

I'll be there!!!! I cant wait to meet all you!!! yay =]

(hope they dont run out of size small... dont wanna have to cut it and make fordham law bar tour shirt....)
Haha that thing you see sticking out of the bag IS a shirt. In the shape of a gavel, I guess. Meh.
