Mr Anon provides a valid counterpoint about how bleak things can be. Zionman just complains about not getting as much money as he feels he is entitled to. C'est la vie
I respectfully disagree with both of em
lol.
Yeah, sorry, maybe I'm not being clear. Anon and I just disagree over WHY Fordham doesn't give out the big bucks. I appreciate his views and was sincere when I said he better stick around. Zionman, however, has some 'splainin to do...

I can't - end of the month is busy times at work and I got to teach others how to do what I do before I leave.
My last day will be the 17th - I'd like to take some time off, but I need the money
Besides, way things are going, it'd take that long to wrap things up so I can leave with piece of mind.

You should try to leave with your whole mind, all indications are you'll need every last. It of it to survive law school

Sorry, poor choice of words on my part, debate might be better.

The thing is I have no issues with any of the debates or discussions especially as they pertain to choices yet to be made or even people withdrawing and opening up slots on the WL.

What does irk me a touch is that people seem to pop in and just flame when they had no intention of going to Fordham or withdrew long ago. Go do all that in another area of the forum, there are plenty of sections made JUST for that.... I actually have no issues with people cussing but don't think it is appropriate in this particular public forum. There, the grumpy old man has spoken.

Anyway, thank yall for the subway travel help and that SHOULD be enough to get me there without getting too lost. (Yes, I say yall IRL)

Did you miss all the FORDHAM HAS NO SENSE OF COMMUNITY (i.e. i managed to go three years without managing to make friends) trolling by Mr. Anon? He goes well beyond bleak. I'm pretty sure I saw him complain about the quality of Fordhams restrooms, but at least that complaint was spot on.

I'm just about a lifelong NYC resident and did my MBA at Fordham so if anyone is looking at off-campus housing or wants to be "shown" the city I'm more than happy to help. JC I'm guessing we're pretty close in age I can show you where the older folks hang and bring some of these wipper snappers with us.

Works for me DT.... My wife was born and raised in the city so she knows it pretty well. I lived in Bayside Queens with her for a while before we got married and I dragged her kicking and screaming to Kansas.

If you can go three years without making a friend there is only one person to blame.......

if its a nice day, you might want to consider walking - get out at 7th avenue and walk up to times square, then walk along broadway until you hit Columbus circle.
At a NY clip, it's about half an hour (which is not much slower than the subway), but an hour at a leasurely pace

Nope.

(Also, I love "seasoned.")
(Also also, JenDarby, how did we go all of last year without meeting? This must be changed, I think. Or did we meet and I didn't realize it?!? haha.)

You got three years on me, and since most of the class will probably be straight from undergrad anyone over 23 will probably be considered a dinosaur.

Wrong argument.

Why should prospective students not go to law school is answers by that article.
Why should Fordham give scholarships to students is a different question altogether

We got some real buzzards on this thread.

1) The previous post about me withdrawing from fordham wasnt accurate. I had not actually withdrawn at the time..it was more of a figurative thing. Admittedly, some venting was involved.

2) I dont consider myself entitled for money just because of my own whims, ding..it's a matter of fact that Fordham's peers and superiors offered me more and most of the time, substantially more. That, to me, is a problem and a legit criticism of Fordham.

1) if you're gonna withdraw, withdraw. That way someone else can take your place
2) so go for the money. Every school has different criteria for allocating funds. Fordham proportionally gives more need based than many of its peers, and less merit based. Additionally, Fordham has less to give.
It's worth noting that Fordham holds its own among its so called peers without having to give out as much in merit aid.
But I digress. The school offering less merit aid than a peer is not a reflection on you personally, and you shouldn't take it as such. Complaining about it doesn't help.
Good luck wherever you do end up going.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
