There's absolutely GOT TO be some sort of movement by the end of the week... right?

If they don't at least update some statuses soon I would think applicants (especially in this cycle) would lose interest.

i'm really hoping so i don't understand how i'm not even in review yet. people say its typically 6-8 weeks to get a decision from time of submission if you submitted early or pretty early. this is gonna be one hell of a wait since illinois is basically the only school i really want to attend, even with the scandal

Lol, where do you get this information???? I say quite the opposite, as the class itself is becoming more geographically diverse, so are the interest of people. I personally know 2Ls with jobs almost in every market, with NY, Texas, and California getting the most after Chicago. And is not 1 person, I know at least of 5 people who got SAs at each of those states.

Also, always remember that the negative nancys and those who didnt get jobs because THEY CANT INTERVIEW AND BLAME IT ON THE SCHOOL are the ones who are most likely to post here. Look at the numbers objectively. You can always apply (its free) and see where it goes from there.
I'm sorry, there's just NO WAY that the bolded is accurate. You're telling me that you know 15 people with biglaw jobs spread among NY, Texas, and CA from within our 2L class? That means that at least 8% of our class has biglaw in those markets when we're barely placing 20% in biglaw right now. And that number is probably higher given that It's unlikely you know everyone in the class. I don't buy it. I know someone who is in the top 5%, on law review, and a perfectly good interviewer who could not get a job back in the city he grew up in and lived in for 20+ years. He's got a market paying job in Chicago. I understand that it is possible for people at Illinois to get offers in other markets but you seem to be trying to convince prospective students that it's not just possible, it's a perfectly normal, achievable goal so long as you can interview well. That's just naive.

Before someone calls me a negative-nancy who can't interview well and is instead blaming the school: I am a 2L at Illinois with a market paying job outside of Chicago. I just recognize that my situation is an exception rather than the rule, and you should too.

God I hate to out people but I hate more being called a liar. Blurbs, just in law review, there are 3 people with SA in NYC in the same vault 50 firm... Everyone knows that. Also, I said jobs, not Vault 100 firms or anything. I repeat, I know people with law firm jobs at all those mkts, some at firms I have never heard of so likely not Vault 100 (which are the only ones I know). Now that I think about it I only know 4 at TX, sorry for the super mistake, but def in NY, CA.

I am not sure where we will end in terms of percentage in big law, perhaps I know of every person who has a big law job, but it does look way much better than the previous year. Blurbs, I was not calling you or anyone in particular a negative nancy, as mentioned above, I meant TLS in general has many of those. Also, you might not be that great of an exception, I have two friends who will be in the same city (secondary Mkt) both a very prestigious Vault firms, and they are BOTH outside of the top 10%. By that I am not trying to create a false hope, if you are not top 1/3 and do not have anything special to add (IP, URM, Speak 5 languages, etc), you will have a very hard time finding a BIG LAW JOB. All I am trying to convey is not to read a line here of "I am/know of a top 10% without a job, dont come to illinois" because the fact that such person doesnt have a job is likely not because he/she goes to illinois.

Blurb and if not satisfied, PM me and ill give you names :)

Pretty sure nobody said that. Someone said don't come to Illinois if you wouldn't be happy working in bumfuck parts of Illinois. For people at the bottom of the class, if they can find jobs at all, I think that's pretty accurate. Also, that's cool that you know all these people working outside the state but 1. what kind of jobs are they? and 2. that's still a small percentage of the class as a whole.

I know people in top 10% on LR who could not get a job in their home market. I'm not saying its typical (I have no idea if it is or not) but it's definitely something somebody coming to Illinois needs to be aware of.

Those who have updated December in review statuses... I feel like we might hear something very soon. I realize its a different admissions now, but I read that the old policy was a decision after a week of in review.

LSN still only has one waitlist and a rejection. Is this correct? Have they really not sent out ANY acceptances yet?

I think those data points are showing up in error. I don't think any notifications have been sent out yet.

in review. Last year there was no way I was going to be accepted, but my LSAT is above their new median, so let's see what happens!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
