wtf? I'm guessing they started to run out of money? 3.3x 159 here accepted in early January non-urm got $35,000/year with the 3.0 stip (OOS).

Seriously. I'm 161/3.1, OOS, with a Master's degree and got the $13,000/year scholarship. For out of state, that's like a big "why bother." Especially since there's little to no chance of being granted in-state tuition while attending.

Yeah that sucks. If it's any consolation I will be withdrawing soon so that money will go back into the pot. I would definitely try to ask for more money if I were you.

If anyone has any general questions about the city or the campus feel, let me know. I stopped by the school recently on my road trip down to visit other schools and can provide some basic information. I also used to live in Indiana for a few years while I went to undergrad at another school. I'm an out of state applicant so I can try to provide that context versus the in-state context.

I wasn't accepted to the school yet, but since it was along the way, I thought it would be advantageous to just do a drive-by.

Worth noting that you would probably lose the scholarship if you gained in-state status. I found that to be amusing.

I will be withdrawing soon. I am starting to narrow down my options. Best of luck to the rest of you.

I just got in via email today and the official letter is being snail mailed. I'm actually out of state and am curious if someone's started a thread for admits.

The admitted students page has some good housing info for big complexes. If you want a smaller apt or a house or something Craigslist is probably your best bet. You pay a premium for being walking distance to school (the apts immediately across from the school, Canal Square, are not very nice but are $$$).

Does anyone know what month class schedules appear for incoming 1L's?

As for people apartment hunting, look into the Block building on 50 N Illinois. I lived there for three years and it is an awesome location (right off the circle) and pretty cheap compared to many other options dtown. All of the floorplans are unique (literally all floorplans are different), but management is sub par. Can't win them all...

The Argyle on East Street is nice too and cheap for Mass Ave housing.

I seem to remember not getting my schedule until sometime in July. Pretty much bank on starting M-F between 9:30 and 11. M-Thurs you'll probably be done by 4:15 and Fridays probably by noon.

Canal square looks pretty dated and really expensive but it is right in front of the law school

1,500 for a 1 bedroom?

Try for a student discount. I had a two bedroom for less than that and had a room mate, so it was pretty cheap in that scenario (I also had a student discount). If you have to live alone and are on a tight budget, I would recommend looking a little farther out. Downtown is going to pretty much run you $1k if it is an easy walk for a 1 bedroom. The 1 bedrooms at the Block building are usually on a waitlist anyway.

Withdrew a bit ago. Decided it wasn't worth attending a school without an LRAP program where I wouldn't be able to get in-state residency and that doesn't have much in terms of what I want to study. Good luck to everyone though!

We do have LRAP, I think this year or next will be the first year it pays out. Just so you all know.

Does anyone know when the last wave of acceptances went out? I applied in mid-February and have not heard a thing. Thanks in advance.

I was there yesterday,it was nice and the people were very welcoming.I didn't know anything that I did not know before though. The financial aid packages will be sent sometime in April, and they talked about the different types of loans etc. there were several professors and they toured around and talked to the students at the end during the reception time. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Did they talk about employment statistics, or the drop in rankings? I was also wondering how classes work for 1L, does everyone get the same schedule? Also, how was the housing that presented?

Sorry, a lot I know.. I am just very interested in their institution. :D thanks!

For 1L day students, they split them in half and you get put in either section A or B. You have the same classes with everyone in your section all year.

The rankings once you get that high are so arbitrary, I really wouldn't worry about it. I mean when you have like 6 schools tied for 89th (or whatever just an example) it's hard to pinpoint why they are ranked the way we are. I mean, granted, we are not the highest ranked school and are 3rd in Indiana BUT being in downtown Indianapolis really has its advantages but ONLY if you want to stay here.

I got accepted on 3/16. Was wondering how long people have waited to hear about scholarship info this year. Did the status checker update before you got it? And how were you notified...email or USPS? Thanks!

Waiting since 1/4/2012 for a reply. I sent a LOCI last month, they added it to my application. Ugh, please give me a decision before seat deposits on April 15th, aka April 13th due to weekend.
