If you called admissions, you might be able to extract some info or get your decision. I can't make a call right now or I would.patrickj11288 wrote:I am RD and mine says the exact same thing..... Not sure what it means.

I've been emailing them trying to schedule a tour and casually asked why I haven't gone under review. I was told that I would be reviewed soon and get a decision shortly. I'm not sure what "shortly" is in their book, since it means different things to different schools, but I hope it's no more than a few weeks.

Atleast you turned your app in early. Are you RD or ED?puremorning wrote:I've been emailing them trying to schedule a tour and casually asked why I haven't gone under review. Anyone think the big donation and renaming will have and effect on their usnwr ranking?

That's the goal, but it wouldn't have any significant impact for another 5 years probably.patrickj11288 wrote:Anyone think the big donation and renaming will have and effect on their usnwr ranking?

RD, and according to my neurotic chart RD isn't supposed to be reviewed until January, but I could have entered something wrong. Yeah...jcsimon wrote:Atleast you turned your app in early. I think in five to ten years, the result will surely be an advance in ranking. It shouldn't be a huge jump, but it will inevitably make admissions standards more stringent due to the talent being drawn to the excess scholarship money and resources now available. The point is, it will certainly help; but it is not going to bust IU Indy into the top 50. I love Indy, I am a resident (cheap tuition), and I want to work in Indy; so for me Indy is the best choice in my book.patrickj11288 wrote:Anyone think the big donation and renaming will have and effect on their usnwr ranking?

Funny, I emailed them today and now I'm under review! I can assume that was only a mere coincidence

In via email RD. Now lets hope Mr. McKinney's sizeable donation pays dividends in terms of a generous scholarship for me.

What was your status when you received your email? Mine went from "In Review" to "Complete" today 12/15 BUT it is saying Letter Sent 12/14. I haven't received an email. Why doesn't my status say decision letter sent?jcsimon wrote:Just got in via email! Check your email if you have "decision letter sent" in your status update. See you all in the Fall!!!
Does anyone know what this means?

Did the Program type change from "either" to one or the other on your status checker?boilermaker11 wrote:What was your status when you received your email? It still says Either. I am thinking I got waitlisted but like you said earlier, wouldn't they just send an email for that?jcsimon wrote:Did the Program type change from "either" to one or the other on your status checker?boilermaker11 wrote:What was your status when you received your email? I dunno.. When I got waitlisted at Washington & Lee they sent me an email. Every school is different though. Your best bet is to call the ad office in the morning. It still says Either. I am thinking I got waitlisted but like you said earlier, wouldn't they just send an email for that?[/

Just wanted to report this news for anyone else that gets "letter sent" and their status says "complete".
I called them today and they said it says "Complete" because no decision was made and my file is going to be held over and reviewed with the Regular Decision files.

This is my top choice...looking to practice around Indy and my fiance currently goes to med school in the area. Haven't gone in review yet, LOR took waaaay too long so had to submit late
Can anyone who has visited tell me what the school's like? Probably won't have a chance to visit so any insight is good!
Congrats to everyone who has been accepted already!

I went in to do a walk through after getting in ED just a few weeks ago and the building (Lawrence W. Inlow Hall) is incredible. The building is brand new when talking about law schools (built in 2001). The court room is ridiculous and there are multiple very large lecture halls sponsored by prestigious Indy law firms. The reading room has a spectacular view of downtown Indy. The only nicer buildings on campus are in the new medical center or the new student center. Try and check it out if you can, it will likely exceed your expectations. If we are going to suffer, let's atleast suffer in a nice building...thegoodpart wrote:This is my top choice...looking to practice around Indy and my fiance currently goes to med school in the area. Agree with the above poster. It is a really nice building in a great location downtown. Based on what I hear from graduates though that doesnt matter because by the end of the first semester you are going to absolutely loath that building and wont appreciate how nice it really is until you are a few years out. That being said has anyone heard anything about scholarhips? I was told they dont send anything about that out until a few weeks after you get admitted, but im getting impatient.

Re: scholarships, I went complete mid-December, got admitted in early march, and didn't get my scholarship info until around April 9th I believe. This was last year, hope that helps.
