I am curious if it is everyone or just those that they would like to move off the waitlist. Any insights?

Got an email today, even tho I withdrew my acceptance, asking if I would reconsider with more scholarship funds. Strange.

I got the same e-mail. I had a conversation with them in Feb. (after I received all my offers) to try to increase the award because a T-25 offered me a little over 2x the money. They told me there was nothing they could do and that's cool, I understand you only have so much money to go around and I didn't expect that they'd be able to match it. It's just weird that after receiving such a final-sounding "no" that I'd get this e-mail a month after all their info was due. I haven't had any other school inside the top 100 give me a "second chance" to get back in after their deadlines -- probably the weirdest thing I've experienced in the admissions process so far besides Regent Law spam.

You have to give Wake Forest credit, they are trying to get the best class they can and are willing to make whatever enticements they can to get it.

+1.

I can't make the move this year regardless so I hope the people attending get this money

I hear from someone on the campus that they are trying to raise median score by 2 points this year.

Accepted off the wait list today with 15k. Was set on university of Houston because I want to practice in Texas but now I'm not so sure as wake would be cheaper. Anyone know the likelihood of getting back to Texas from wake?

Based on that information, graduates definitely break into the field. I am assuming that you just have to do a little more work than the rest of your peers who wants to be in NC.

Congrats on getting in! Does anyone know if Wake allows you to negotiate for more money?

I know several recent grads who have jobs or are in the final stages of interviewing for a job in Texas. It'll likely be fine if you are from Texas. The harder part is making the connections from so far away. But it's doable. I would just network whenever you are home.

Anyone know how successful Wake grads are heading up to New York? Also, anyone have any experience with the externship in DC program?

Hey guys, sorry if this has already been answered. Does anyone on campus know if admissions truly is raising the LSAT median and if wakes applicants went up or down this year? Also, what was the reason for the rankings drop? Thanks!

Also withdrew today. Wake was my top choice but I received a job offer this week that I would be an idiot to refuse.

Best of luck to those still waiting.

If you want to work in New York, then go to a new york school.

As far as the DC externship, it's brand new, and if you get accepted you have to do a lot of the legwork yourself in terms of finding someone in DC to take you on. SO yeah...

Every school in teh country will have dropping applicants, and as a result, dropping lsats and gpas. Also, I wouldn't be worried about whether wake forest is # 34 or # 38 or # 42.

No matter what their ranking is, they are a top school in NC, with a ton of grads and a great alumni network. UNC is slightly better, i suppose, but employers see them pretty much the same, and most duke grads flee from the state like its an STD.

In other words- don't worry about the ranking- wake forest law is over 100 years old- it has its own reputation that is well known throughout the state. In addition, I am originally from Va, and a lot of the places that I interviewed at in VA for 2L summer (including the place i accepted an offer from) had Wake grads, or knew wake grads, or thought positively of wake forest law. I promise they will not care whether wake forest is #39 or #48.

In addition to a good NC and Va reputation, i just got an interview with the philly Da's office... so I guess it has at least some reach up there (Cause lord knows it wasn't my skills that got me that interview).

oh- edited to add- i know its got a good reputation in SC. I know people who got jobs there, as well as 2L summer internships with the DA's office in Charleston. If you have any questions for me, I'll tell you the truth.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
