Will there be another wave of acceptances or will the next wave be all WL and rejects? It seemed like last year the 22 was a big day for WL/reject.

Thoughts, anyone?

It appears they go back and forth between a strict no-negotiation policy and a policy of "you're welcome to try, but...no." I called the admissions office to ask if there was in fact a no-negotiation policy and I was told that I should communicate with the dean directly with any scholarship concerns. I have a mostly completed letter that I'll be sending out sometime this week, but I just wanted to see if any of you had any success stories to share...

Thanks and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I emailed Emory last week asking if I could get my scholarship increased, but haven't heard back from them. They don't have my fall marks and I got a new LSAT score that's two points higher than the score I was admitted with; I'm hoping those two items could make a difference. I'll send an email to the dean if that's where you were directed.

Yes, I was directed to the dean of admissions. I asked if I should attach copies of offers from other schools and the lady I spoke with on the phone told me however I want to do it is up to me.

Pony Express should be here tomorrow with my letter, yes?

You can probably check by signing into OPUS on Emory website... it asks for candidate students' birthdate and social for login if you don't yet have a student number. So... you'd probably be able to tell that way while you wait for your mail to forward.

Though if anyone has previously applied to emory (say, for undergrad, for instance) and hasn't logged in for over 200 days (because why would you, you don't go to emory) you won't be able to log in with that information... Yup... I did try that.. Yup. I did fail... But I mailed in my deposit today so woo!

Hey all,

Just got a response back from the dean in regards to my inquiry about a scholarship increase. He said Emory does not negotiate merit scholarships. This is what I had heard around TLS, but when I called their admissions office to ask about their official policy they told me to go ahead and write him...so I guess if any of you were thinking about doing the same, don't bother since it will just be a waste of time.

Now, decisions, decisions...

I'm guessing this week if there will be more Bc last year the 22nd was a huge day for WLs so... if they follow the same pattern next Monday would be the round of WL? Just thinking aloud though.

Hi – this is Ethan Rosenzweig, the dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Emory Law. It is 80 degrees in Atlanta today, and I am fortunate enough to type this note on our Law School patio to enjoy the weather. As always, I appreciate the opportunity to provide updates in this forum.

Decisions: We will issue all remaining decisions (admit, waitlist, and deny) over the next 5-7 days (March 15-March 20). We received a large number of applications at our deadline, along with updates from the February LSAT results. Thus, we are moving very quickly to ensure all files receive the comprehensive review they deserve. If you have not received a decision by March 27th, please contact us at admission@law.emory.edu.

Waitlist: I fully anticipate our making numerous admission offers from the waitlist this year. If you are asked to join the list, I encourage you to accept a slot so that we may have the opportunity to find you a space in the Class of 2015. Last year, we offered scholarships to many people on the waitlist, and I anticipate the same this year. (More details about the waitlist will be included in decision notification letters and/or emails.)

Visiting Day: If you have been invited to Visiting Day on March 31st, remember to register at http://www.law.emory.edu/visitingday. Our hotel just opened up additional rooms (attendees grabbed them up quickly), and I encourage folks to reserve their rooms as soon as possible. It is shaping-up to be a wonderful event, and I am already praying that the weather is the same as it is today.

NYC and DC Events: We are hosting events in New York City on Monday, March 26 and Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 27. (I just saw the menu and am hungry again.) Admitted students can register at http://www.law.emory.edu/dc2012 or http://www.law.emory.edu/nyc2012. These events are an ideal opportunity to learn about the Emory Law alumni network and our community. I hope to see many people there.

Center for Professional Development and Career Strategy: Dean Schapiro will be sending an email to our new students soon to discuss our professional development programming, career strategy planning, and employment statistics. This will be followed by a 3-year employment report mailed to the same address we sent your admission materials, and a preview to our career discussions at Visiting Day. I hope this information proves helpful, and I look forward to hearing your feedback on campus.

Finally, I have been extremely impressed with the applications this year. Each cycle, I try to pick-out a few essays that clearly shine, and for the first time, I have an entire folder of “favorite” essays. Thank you for taking the time to submit such powerful applications.

Of course, if there are any questions we can address, feel free to email us at admission@law.emory.edu.

Got my lease signed through 1L, kids enrolled in school, and registered for March 31 ASD.

ITS ON!
