So last week a bunch of people heard about scholoarship info, I was only really considering American w/$$$ ... does anyone know if they plan to send out another round of notifications. I have money from peer schools and better schools and was surprised to hear nothing from American yet.

Ditto. I'm unsure whether to just move on from American or keep waiting. I don't want to give up just yet but how do we know when they're done giving out schollys?

Last day to deposit with a Scholly is April 1, there are a few weeks between now and then.

On a totally seperate note (because my post was last on the previous page) Anyone going to ASD on March 27th?

True, I think I'm just impatient. I'm going to the ASD on March 23 instead, too bad!

I'm waitlisted at American but I'm not holding my breath. I don't know if I could go there without money. I've been admitted to better schools with lower costs to me if I went.

I talked to some student in admissions last week and he told me that there COULD be a second round, if students from the first round do not accept their offer. I wouldn't be too hopeful though... :/

That's depressing. American was my top choice but with no scholly it's just too pricey :(

It's my first choice too and I don't really know what to do because I don't want to give up on it. On a brighter note, the guy also told me that there are scholarships for Spring semester that you can get if you maintain a high GPA during the Fall. I am anxiously awaiting the financial aid package.. God knows I have the need.. haha.

I see no scholarships that specifically are awarded during spring semester first year: http://www.wcl.american.edu/finaid/fundtypes.cfm . I believe that you can apply for scholarships that would be put towards subsequent years but not your spring semester of 1L.

Well, the admissions person I talked to specifically told me that there are scholarships available for the Spring Semester of 1L. You can call and check yourself if you want.

American just extended their app dealine until April 1st which makes me wonder what the school is trying to do...getting more application in to better their yield %. This also makes me think this is absolutely no hope for the wailist people now since people with FEB LSAT can still apply and WL chance goes down the tube...

I am above 75th LSAT and at median GPA and got no money (yet?). You'd think American could muster up some generosity with the tuition they charge. You'd also think they could revamp their website so that it no longer resembles a homemade Geocities website from 2001. Just sayin.

They notify you via email. I emailed admissions today about any more offers and they responded like this...

"The first round of merit scholarships have been offered. Once we receive a response from each offeree we will assess whether additional scholarships will be offered."

I think this means...Don't hold your breath about $$$.

Is there an admitted applicants facebook page?

As for the question above about deposit deadlines -- the final date is april 15th, it is april 1st if you received scholarship information.
