I'm from NC. There were quite a few people from Texas that I met when I visited, although there were people from all over.imbored25 wrote:question: where are you guy's from. i've heard a bunch of tulane ppl are not from louisiana/the south

seeing as the 1st deposit deadline was yesterday, how soon will they start offering spots to those on the waitlist? when has it started moving in the previous years?

First deposit deadline is the 16th (today). Don't scare people

They still need a few days to process the first deposits, so it will probably be next Monday before there is any movement.TIKITEMBO wrote:Gavel wrote:seeing as the 1st deposit deadline was yesterday, how soon will they start offering spots to those on the waitlist? when has it started moving in the previous years?

Anxiously awaiting to hear if I'll get in off the wait list. LOCI and a new recommendation letter sent directly to admissions a little bit ago. I feel like I have a good shot, cause it seems as though many have withdrawn...

But I took my undergradate degree at LSU so it will be nice to be back south where winter doesn't exist.

Re: 2011-2012 Tulane
Does anyone know how the waitlist works? I was told there is no "ranking" per se by the admissions office but Im wondering if anyone gets in, and if so, when were they notified? Anyone from past years' cycles that wants to chime in would be very helpful. Thanks and sorry if this question has already been asked. I'm sitting on a solid offer from LSU but would prefer to remain in New Orleans as I am living here now so a decent offer from Tulane would give me a lot to think about.

Re: 2011-2012 Tulane
I just got a call yesterday accepting me off of the waitlist. I had written an LOCI about a week ago. I also said I would only accept an offer with a scholarship offer. They offered me 7500/year, which is just not anywhere near enough. I thought about it for a day and politely withdrew. So don't give up hope yet as they are accepting some people off of the waitlist. Good luck. I love NOLA but its LSU '15 for me!

I was offered a spot off the waitlist with a small merit-based scholarship last night as well. I can't say I like the 24-hours-to-respond-to-offer policy, haha.
This should be a fun day.

When they told you that you had 24 hours to respond, what were the stipulations? Did they say you also had to withdraw from your other schools? Or do they give you 24 hours to pay a deposit to hold your seat?miy wrote:I was offered a spot off the waitlist with a small merit-based scholarship last night as well. nope, putting down a deposit wasn't binding. It was $1000 though, so yeah... not binding but expensive enough to make you really think about it.bulldoglaw wrote:When they told you that you had 24 hours to respond, what were the stipulations? Did you guys pay your first deposits before withdrawing? Or were you accepted late in the cycle?TIKITEMBO wrote:Withdrew a couple days ago. Good luck everyone on the WL!

Re: 2011-2012 Tulane
Tulane called me yesterday and offered me a spot in their class next fall. It wasn't a decision my wife and I came to lightly, but we accepted it and paid our deposit. I am honestly shocked to finally know where we're going. About a year ago, I didn't know ANYTHING about Tulane. And now my young family will be spending the next three years there, far away from the rest of our family. I really feel like we were meant to attend here!
Oh, and just so you all know: numbers aren't everything. My LSAT is well below Tulane's 25th%. Good luck to everyone else, and most of all: thank you to those who withdrew your applications and made it possible for my family to have this experience.

Re: 2011-2012 Tulane
Need some advice. I asked to be deferred for a year because of an opportunity at work. However, I still owe the $1,000 seat deposit by June 1, and will owe another seat deposit for next year. Is it a good idea to hold my spot, or is it safe to assume that since I was accepted once, I'll be accepted again? Obviously, reapplying could save me quite a bit of cash in the short run. Any reason to think my financial aid package could be sweetened by technically being one of the first students accepted for next year?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
