Waitlisted. I really thought I would be rejected though, so I was happy. My LSAT was crap and I applied too late. Don't worry about it....

This.

I expected an answer by now and the fact that the first seat deposit for STCL is due Monday puts a damper in things...

Have you tried to ask STCL for an extension?

If you UH is your top choice I would pay the STCL deposit just to make sure you have a school to go to. When UH accepts you just tell STCL your going to school down the road- only thing you will lose is your deposit.

Also like mtyler said, ask for an extension- they should give it to you.

Okay... here's my stats. Any comments yay or nay are appreciated with proper logical and empirical support.

GPA 3.73 :)
LSAT 158 :/

Submitted part-time application 3/17, IR 3/18, and now I have had 3- count them, 3- IR status updates and still no answer.

U of H is my first and only choice of law schools. I live in the Houston area with my family and I have a good job that I need to keep. I really don't relish the idea of relocating my family and losing all income to go 100K+ in debt with the current economy and surplus of lawyers. Side tangent, I know. The fact that I only applied to UofH has made me extra impatient and nervous.

What I want to know: is the fact that I haven't heard anything primarily because I applied part-time, and/or is the fact that my In Review status has been updated 3 times a bad sign??

No, its not a definite sign of anything. It probably means your about to get a decision. I think you'd be in with those stats so I wouldn't worry about it.

Seems as if UHLC was on their A-Game today.

Glad to see tuition is not raising- hopefully it stays that way.

This is probably better to be addressed by current 2L and 3Ls but tuition increases for current students are not as severe as for the incoming class. I think I remember people from last year's entering class saying while they were paying 3-4k more a year while the previous class's tuition was only raise a couple thousand. Unfortunately I think we will see some increase in tuition over our time, because I think cuts from the Texas Legislature has a decent size impact on tuition #'s. When I left my internship at the Texas Legislature last June they were happy they got the budget passed, but I was told the 2013 session was going to bring some really nasty cuts especially to higher education if they didn't try to raise new revenue. Now that Dewhurst is going to the U.S. Senate there is an outside chance we get casino's in Texas so the cuts might not be so severe because casino's would bring in anywhere from 1-4 billion in new revenue for the state. I know that was a random tangent, but still, 1L without an increase is a great early Easter present.

Tuition not increasing is AMAZING all things considering. UH main campus and school system got hit so hard. The grant is for TX grad students. it just shows up for some and doesn't show up for others. It goes in order of need and then just by when you filed your FASFA.

A week or two before the final month, I got an email from sfa (student financial something) saying my financial aid was updated and I saw the $1k/$1k. I asked the incredibly helpful Laura Neil and she said, yes it is real, don't expect free money again, and they just noticed there was some leftover cash so they gave it in the order that came the apps came in.

UH handing out big scholarships and not raising tuition is super impressive.

Congrats! Part-timer here! When I first saw your post, I was about to post about how strong your numbers are for the part-time class, but then 3 posts down, you finally got the good news!

Hopefully they'll give you a little extension on your seat deposit, as you probably won't even get your admissions packet until next week.

My Current Status Date has been updated for the third time today (In Review since 3/11, I think…). I guess I will be getting a decision soon…? So nervous.

My status date was also updated today. I don't know how many times they've done that but it has been at least three different "In Review" dates. As to any significance, I couldn't say.
