No. Someone mentioned that when he called, he was told that only about 10% of applicants interview.aes6b wrote:Just submitted a few days ago!
Also, how important are interviews to Vandy? Is it like Northwestern where you pretty much have to interview to get in?

If you had it scheduled before your app then you don't need to tell them anything more its up to your interviewer at that point. For me I scheduled it after i sent the app and I had to log on and give them the date, but after that no more.tennisballs wrote:When you put the date of your interview in your application, does it process through them automatically?fingerscrossedxx wrote:Your interviewer submits an evaluation about you once you're finished the interview.thelawschoolproject wrote:How does Vandy evaluate one's interview performance?

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I had the same experience when I interviewed with them last week. The interview was much more focused on the alum promoting Vandy and answering any of my questions. It was not stressful at all, and a very nice change of pace.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Just had my Vandy interview. It was AWESOME. My interviewer didn't spend too much time on me but gave me a good overview of what attracted them to Vandy and Nashville and how they stayed on in Nashville way after lawschool. Made me so excited for the school. Wouldn't even call it an interview really :p lovely conversation!

Because I live in bum-fuck no where, my closest interview site is like six-seven hours away. Fail.

So far, I've refused every one of Vandy's interview overtures. There's a reason I didn't apply to Northwestern, dammit.

I refused them because an interview is not required, only encouraged for those whose applications are lacking somewhere. The allusion to NU was meant to be simply comical, not reflective of some deep-seated aversion to face-to-face communication. After all, there's a difference between volunteering for an optional interview when you're an auto-admit and being required to complete one before your application is even considered--a la NU.

Well, I will post here!! Try to liven things up again. I had my interview yesterday, and it was awesome...got to tour the school, sit in on a class, and the lady that did the interview was quite nice. Every single time I go to Nashville, I am reminded why I like that city so much.horrorbusiness wrote:crickets chirp... fade to deafening silence. everyone packs their things and, without taking their eyes from the floor, shuffle listlessly out the door. no one ever returns to post in the thread again.anewaphorist wrote:Lol, well that killed the discussion. And I will reply! I have yet to visit Nashville and I have to admit that was the only reason this school wasn't higher on my list of priorities but the more I hear the more Im convinced about the city. I'm sold on the school for sure, so I think i need to pay Nashville a visit.kl10qm wrote:Well, I will post here!! Try to liven things up again. two days later, after the smoke had cleared and most of the nuclear fallout had dissipated, a few brave survivors began to poke their heads out from their roughly-made foxholes. they weren't sure if anewaphorist would strike again, but damnit, they were willing to take that chance.fingerscrossedxx wrote:And I will reply! We were! Cannot let the Vandy thread decend into oblivion.
Nashville is an awesome city to live in - Im actually moving there in January for six months (maybe even more if Vandy says yes)- so I might be a little biased

Nashville's great! I've lived within 2 hours of the city for a while now, and it's probably the chief asset that sets Vanderbilt above the rest of all the non-T14 schools.

All I can say is <3 the city, <3 the campus, <3 the law school, and hopefully they become a bit more lenient towards extreme splitters, or I become the magic one that slips through. I'm going to submit very soon after I nail down my PS.
