I don't think so ... I'm sure if I had tremendous numbers they may throw me a bone. I know there are admitted people out there with much more impressive stats than mine.

Accepted into the evening division. This school was a reach and I applied only a few weeks ago so I'm pleased, although I'm doubtful I'll be able to accept their offer. LSP gave me a 16% chance of being admitted, you fail!

Can any admitted people tell me if there is an upcoming ASD? I'll be going to UofO's this next weekend and thought I'd swing up to Portland for a day and check L&C out.

Apologies for the randomness of this question, but how hard would you say it is to get into this school pt compared to MD pt and Richmond?

Maryland's pt is the 9th best and I believe Richmond and L&C are almost tied.

They should explain somewhere in the packet about aid... But this late in the game, L&C is pretty notorious for "ran out of money" letters. They are probably looking at their admission retention in the next few days to see if some money will become available.

Good luck! I still haven't heard a thing from them.

I had no $$$ info in my packet. I sent them a letter requesting merit aid and you basically get put on a list. They extend your deposit deadline to May 2nd and they will inform you about your request towards the end of April (this is the response that I received).

My admit packet had two letters, one saying I was in, and one saying that I had been considered for scholarships but they ran out of money. Since it's my first choice I told them I def. want to be reconsidered in a few weeks. I also asked if the reconsideration list was first come first serve, and they said no, it was based on merit. So if you didn't the second letter, it seems like you'd probably have lower priority than those who got the letter.

Waitlisted this morning.

From the email:

Quote:
The admissions committee has completed its review of your application. At this time, we are unable to make any additional offers of admission.

So I guess they ran out of admit packets in addition to running out of scholly money.

Withdrawing.

Checked LSN and realized I was admitted pt with stats lower than everyone on the site, and I'm not even a URM

Still have not made it to review stage yet.... at this point, even if I get in, I'll probably withraw because it doesn't look like L&C is handing out money.

Too bad. I really like the idea of Portland. :?

Does anyone have good insight into housing?

I saw the statistics from the Insider page, but have no idea how the neighbors are like.

Can anyone tell me where to begin?!

3L at L&C, what exactly do you need to know about housing? Except for a very limited number of law school owned housing options people live all over the place. The school is a commuter school. More than half of student live in various parts of SE and SW Portland. I live in a suburb and like it there because I have a family and do not care about being in a "hip" area.

What sort of questions do you have about housing?

Hey there katjust, as a 3L, does that mean your place will be opening up for our 1L year?

I'm looking into Lake Oswego, it seems closer than a lot of other Portland neighborhoods especially with the shuttle and bus right there (and is actually cheap rent for apartments for being the "expensive" suburb). Do you know what a drive time commute would be like? Maybe compared to Tigard?

Thanks :)

It depends on where you live in Lake Oswego. If you live near downtown you could drive in 5-10 minutes easily. If you ride a bike, you could do it in 20 minutes (from downtown). If you live in the Lake Grove area (where I lived for 1L and 2L) the drive is about 10-15 minutes. Biking would be about 30-40 minutes. Also, the East side of Tigard is probably about as close as the Lake Grove area. Overall, Lake Oswego is probably the closest suburb to L&C in terms of drive time.

I currently live in Tualatin, and the drive is 15+ minutes.

for what it's worth...

i just received a phone call from admissions telling me that they've upped my scholarship by $5K/yr. apparently they do have some extra money and are in the process of spreading it around. good luck to everyone waiting to hear back on money!

i just put my seat deposit down right after the call. see you in portland!

Just got the call as well. 5k more per year and stips reduced to 2.6.

Hopefully there's more calls going out.
