I also came home yesterday to discover a scholarship in the mail. THANK YOU BU!! I should note that the letter indicated it was being awarded as a result of reviewing my need application, but seeing as no other schools gave me need aid I'm assuming it's just merit.

No stipulations, either. I love youuuu BUUUU

I completed Need Access about a month ago. I just checked the BU website and it looks like the BU Alumni Scholly is indeed need-based, and may be combined with other, merit-based aid, which would be awarded separately. Here's the info:

So that's how it's going to be, BU? That's how you're going to treat the twelve 6 mafia?
Well then come at me, bro. See how long I ride that waitlist.

Just got a need based scholarship, but it only covers about 1/4 of the total COA. I haven't heard anything about merit aid yet, but I didn't really expect any from BU. Also I live in Boston, and I was accepted on 3/1.

Sorry to members of the 12/6 mafia :( I was rooting for you guys!

Any idea if it's too late to apply for need based aid? I know the priority deadline has probs passed, but hoping there is some money left...

I got my aid information in the mail today. Though it said need-based, I think they do a combined. Since it includes a breakdown of total costs, I'm thinking that's it.

I'm in MA and was accepted before Christmas.

Notified today via mail that I was declined the PI Scholarship, however, I was placed on the "waitlist" for the scholarship. The letter says that they won't have a solid idea who will accept the scholarship until after the April 15th deposit deadline. So......if I want a chance to receive the scholarship, I'll have to deposit and then hope to get off the waitlist. Really!? Another "waitlist" and a $500.00 deposit just for the chance I'll get off the waitlist. Depressing.

Hmmm.....that's discouraging, to say the least! And I wonder what it means for those who applied for the scholarship, and have not yet heard back one way or the other? Obviously, it can't be good, but it would be nice to have a definite answer.

Do any of the recent scholarship recipients live on the west coast? I was accepted a longtime ago and still waiting. Hoping something is on the way.

I was admitted 2/24. So recent, but not after March 1. I had all of my Need Access stuff done by mid-February, though, so that may have sped up the process since the letter does claim to be need-based.

I was admitted on 3/1, but I filled out my Fafsa and need access mid-February.

I also just received scholarship offer. I was admitted 3/6 and I think I had my need access in on the last day before it was due on 3/1

Thanks for all of the answers. I was accepted 2/28 and I got need aid from Davis so I hope Boston can match it.
