I just got offered $30K/year via snail mail through the BU School of Law Alumni Scholarship. I was admitted in the first week of December and hadn't heard a single thing about scholly money until I opened my mailbox today. So for all you who are just kind of waiting/given up on money, don't!

Thanks for the update! Between you and the other poster who received today via snail mail, I'm pretty anxious to get home from work and check my mail (which should just be getting there now, actually).

30k a year would certainly make it difficult for me to turn down an acceptance.

Hopefully, that will be a decision I'll actually have to make...

I got last week via phone call and got the packet in the mail today. Didn't think I got a scholarship but turns out they're giving me 51K, which is pretty sweet.

Was it from Need Access? If so, how did you find?

Yeah it's a great offer from a great school and I was flattered to receive it. At this point I think most people on TLS would still advise me to go with the $20K/year offer I got from UVA, which is IMO my best offer to date, but I suppose I'll find out for sure when I get all my offers in and inevitably make a poll lol.

Apparently it's just the regular Merit scholarship. The letter came with the snail mail packet.

Thanks for the reply!

I got some Need Access from Davis so I was hoping to get some from Boston as well especially since I haven't gotten any merit aid yet despite most URMs with my stats or lower getting some pretty hefty chunks of change.

Boston is my number one so far, I just really need some aid. I got a full ride to Cardozo and despite substantial aid from Davis it still would cost an arm and a leg! So I'm trying to figure out the best way to negotiate.

td;lr: I neez some moneyz

I can't confirm right now, but I'm pretty sure it's 4/16. That, or within a few days either way.

Forever 12/6. However, I'm completely out of fucks to give. I've become very zen about it.

unless u r sure u want to stay in new england, i'd go w/ uva. on the other hand, uva kids aren't faring so great right about now either (read: over 1/4-1/3 of the class of 2011 was unemployed at graduation and even now over 10% of graduates are only employed bc the school has put them on paid fellowships). congrats on your offers and good luck deciding!
