Just to clarify.
People had success emailing their tax info for need access instead of mailing it?

Re: Boston University c/o 2015 Applicants
I have no idea. So far most people ITT who have received scholarships were URM, with the rest of their merit/need-based aid going out the end of the month, so no data yet. I'll be curious as what they count as need since I'm 27, haven't been a dependent for 10 years, and will be paying for this myself, too.freaknroll wrote:zor wrote:It's not you, it's confusing as hell. Do the Need Access ASAP (especially since it's a nightmare and it'll take you a long time). Then you have to send them your tax returns. Here's their checklist:freaknroll wrote:I was accepted yesterday and have a quick question concerning financial aid. What else do I need to fill out besides the FAFSA, which I submitted at the beging of Feb.? Do I need to fill out the Need Access form immediately or should I wait for my packet? I think I may qualify for some need based aid and don't want to miss the boat because I missed a deadline or something.
This shit is confusing as hell, or maybe I'm just an idiot.
1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Student (and spouse, if applicable) information only
2. Need Access Form
Parent information is required if you will be under 24 years of age by December 31, 2012 or claimed as a dependent on your parents' federal income tax return.
3. Signed copies of 2011 federal income tax returns
Please include a signed copy of the 1040 form, all schedules and all W-2 forms for the applicant and the applicant's spouse, if applicable.
Parent federal tax returns are required if you will be under 24 years of age by December 31 or claimed as a dependent on your parents' federal income tax return.
It doesn't say how to submit them but I e-mailed them and they confirmed receipt so that should work.
Thanks man I appreciate it. If you are claimed as a dependant and won't be under 24 by Dec. 31 does that mean you won't receive any money even if you are paying for the full cost of your education?

I e-mailed my taxes directly to BU pursuant to their instructions. For Need Access I didn't mail any taxes. As far as I know they only require you do that if you're selected for verification (aka auditing).StarLightSpectre wrote:Just to clarify.

Looks like there are still more than a few people with good LSATs waiting to hear back. Good luck to everyone, hopefully we hear back fairly soon!

Not to rip on you, but do you ever post anything that isn't depressing? Show a little optimism or something. Continuous negative posts just gets annoyingconfusedlaw wrote:nope im not in expecting a ding as a deferred ed candidate theyve been reviewing my app since early november

While I do feel bad for the 12/6 mafia, I am perplexed as to how I got 4-5 updates before updating to 02/27 and have yet to hear anything. Wtf?

Does anyone have a relatively cheap and close, preferably within walking distance of the school, hotel that they can recommend for the asd on the 30th?

At this point I'm just going to give up on BU giving me scholarship $ and plan on going to UMN. If they surprise me I'll be thrilled but not counting on it anymore

Don't give up yet. I remember reading somewhere on here of someone who was very successful negotiation with BU into the summer with schools lower ranked and what many wouldnt consider peers. I know you sent a negotiation email once but if I was you I would send another in a week or so. What have you got to lose?ThreeRivers wrote:At this point I'm just going to give up on BU giving me scholarship $ and plan on going to UMN. Happy 3 months to my twelve 6s! y'all make this wait bearableMoriarty wrote:*looks at the date* Three month-iversary for the 12/6 mafia...let's hope that woodscommaL doesn't kill anyone...
Moriarty: I redirected my murderous rage into some hardcore shopping today. So, no one was injured, but the shoe section at Nordstroms was brutalized. And BU is days away from receiving a strongly worded email.

Happy 3 months everyone! Cheers to still being here at 4/6!!!
We should all collaborate to write this strongly worded letter. A letter coming from "Twelve 6 Mafia" sounds pretty intimidating.woodscommaL wrote: And BU is days away from receiving a strongly worded email.

I submitted in late November and my app is still stuck at 1/18 "Application Complete". WTF BU?

How in the hell have the 12/6ers not gotten a response yet? I'm ashamed that I submitted after, yet received my decision before them...this is a messed up little world.

BU is obviously full of William Shatner fans, hence your earlier response.jerichosm wrote:How in the hell have the 12/6ers not gotten a response yet? I'm ashamed that I submitted after, yet received my decision before them...this is a messed up little world.
