Georgia State University c/o 2015 (2011-2012 cycle)
Welcome to the ride! For those that like stats, GSU is a fantastic up-and-coming law school. US News ranked it in the top third of law schools, at #61, and #2 in the nation for "Financial Value at Graduation". The National Jurist ranked it as "No. 1 Best Value Law School". For the 2nd year in a row this year, students from GSU took the title at the Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Moot Court Competition.
That's just a little inspiration for those us applying to GSU this cycle.

Re: Georgia State University c/o 2015 (2011-2012 cycle)
A little about me...
I am a reboot/ retake from last cycle. I am a Caucasian nontraditional (34 y.o.) woman that graduated from Emory in 2006 with a double major in Sociology & Women's Studies. I had a 3.3, with some inaccuracies in my transcript that may or may not be fixable.
I took the LSAT in 2009 & got a 154 with special circumstances (my mom died a few months earlier). I acknowledged my LGBT status on my app, and wrote my PS on a related topic. I applied for PT day very late in the cycle. Originally, I was waitlisted, and then denied.

Good luck to you! I hope you are registered for the October LSAT. I'm sure a few points could make all the difference.
I'm still trying to decide whether to apply to Georgia State - if I stay in Georgia, I think I'd prefer UGA.
Has anyone got a fee waiver from Georgia State this year? I got one last year, and I'm thinking about emailing to ask if they will renew it for this cycle. Although, I got the fee waiver last year at the beginning of October, so perhaps they just haven't sent this year's waivers yet.

I received a fee waiver, but I stopped by their table at a forum. The 2L (?) at the table was actually one of the more honest and helpful people I encountered. She definitely convinced me to take a look. I'm a nontraditional male and splitter... so we'll see what happens.

Registered for Dec LSAT,
current UGA undergrad,

non-urm, unless they count gingers.
~3.3 gpa
GSU is my number one choice, I've always wanted to study/live in Atlanta.

I took a Kaplan course, did decent on the October LSAT, but way underperformed all my PTs, trying to get a few more points to be competitive. For the December test, I'm just going through the bundles of books I own. I ordered the Logic Games Bible too, since logic games tend to be my area for greatest improvement.

Where did you read that they don't start reviewing until after new years? That would really suck!

I know its kind of late for December LSAT, but I recommend taking a course and also studying with the Powerscore Bibles.
I took a Princeton Review accelerated course, but I definately recommend the longer one because its a lot of work squeezed into a short amount of time.

"The faculty Admissions Committee will begin to review files in January and continue to review until the class is full."
