Ahh, I literally opened it about 3 hrs before you posted this, was very disappointed. A nice gesture to send something else from Dean White, but definitely a downer.AntipodeanPhil wrote:Just a heads up for admitted students: I got a letter today from the Dean of the Law School with some information about the program. I live close to the school and seem to get mailings a day or two before everyone else, so the rest of you should expect a letter soon. Don't think it's scholarship money when you see the envelope!

Why is Georgia's status checker so radically different from the other schools I have applied to?
Anyhow, applied on the 28th. According to the status checker: "Your application is being reviewed by the Admissions Committee."

Also in today via status checker. Definitely excited as this is the first school I have heard anything from. I assume scholarship info and official announcement are via snail mail?

just got my status checker 2 hours ago (the first i've heard from them since i applied). logged in, and it already says i'm admitted? my numbers are good for UGA, but this seems strange... anyone else had this happen?
also, for those of you who have already heard about scholarships, when did you hear?

Congratulations! You'll get a package via USPS with information and a "Georgia Law" decal.tbc83 wrote:Also in today via status checker. Definitely excited as this is the first school I have heard anything from. I assume scholarship info and official announcement are via snail mail?
Some people get scholarship money with the acceptance package, but Georgia also hands it out at other points throughout the cycle.
Of course, Georgia is already a great deal - even for OOS students, since it's so easy to get the in-state rate for 2L & 3L.

Yea, the same thing happened to me too. I thought I would receive an email or something so I didn't even think to check until I looked at this forum.
Congrats!
It seems to me that schools start sending scholarship info after decisions. I hope to receive some by the end of the year, but its possible I will have to wait until Jan. or Feb.

In via status checker! The folks who got in on the first wave two weeks ago got their snail mail materials pretty quickly. Fun times!

I am. I only got $5,000 a year, but that is almost a third of tuition. An in-stater on LSN reports getting a full-tuition scholarship.murray18 wrote:Has anyone out there who received scholly $$ been in-state?

I applied a few minutes after the application became available for submission and got the scholarship letter with my acceptance package on 11/16.cutecarmel wrote:When did you apply, when were you excepted and when did you receive scholarship info? I wouldn't worry if you haven't been given any scholarship money yet. They might not have wanted to send money with your round of acceptances. A look through last year's applicants on LSN makes it clear that they hand out scholarship money at various points throughout the cycle - people report getting letters in the mail, often months after an acceptance letter.

Are there any splitters that have been accepted?

Re: Georgia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
It's starting to look as if 165 is the magic number again. According to LSN, a couple of 165s and a few 166s have been accepted, but no 164s. So as long as you are a splitter with at least a 165 - which your profile says you are - I'd bet money on you getting in.neeko wrote:Are there any splitters that have been accepted?

for people who have been accepted already-about how long did it take from the time your application was complete?
