Not just asking you but everyone in general, but any idea how W&L is for negotiating? I'm really happy with the $$ I got from W&L, but even with 20K scholly, UGA is still cheaper for me with in state tuition. Still not 100% sold on W&L, but if ASW does sway me, financial considerations will come into play.
We're pretty much the same person. Just got my 20k in the mail a few minutes ago! Unfortunately U(sic)GA (sorry I'm a tech student) didn't give me any money though. It's hard to not want to go to W&L with the amazing admissions process thus far.
Haha yeah down to the #s even too (167/3.3x for me). I'm meeting with the Dean of Admissions at UGA because I also didn't get any $$ from them, but even w/o $$ it's still only 15K a year in-state.
Sorry to get off-track from W&L, now back on! Also, skolks, are you flying to ASW? The cheapest price right now (with tax) is $421. Absolutely ridiculous imho.

hopefully this doesnt sound bitter due to my waitlist status
, but I think that making a decision about where to go to law school based on the fact that their admissions department has sent out a lot of wordy emails might be ill advised.

I'm actually driving... Taking a spring break road trip to visit schools in the NC/VA/DC area... PM me about how you got to meet with him. I'd be super interested

In Review now. Congrats to all the recent admits!
Quick question: are the zeroes next to the 1st and 2nd seat deposits meaningless?

I agree. I appreciate Twitty and Shively, but I also hear about the horrors of UNCs admissions department. My two cents: a school having a great admissions department is nice, but kind of like having nice facilities. A cool feature but not a great reason to matriculate.

Despite UNC's admissions being the most aloof collection of individuals (haven't heard anything from them in over a month), they remain my top choice for law school.

idk, as someone who used to go to undergrad at a place with an absolutely horrible administration, it would be nice to go somewhere where the people in charge actually have their shit together. imo the application process is stressful enough and it's just nice to have applied somewhere where they make decisions quickly and let you know exactly when it's coming, etc. instead of treating the students like they couldn't care less and just want the tuition money. obviously it's not the most important thing to consider (or anywhere near it) but if i end up having to decide between similar schools (like w&l and w&m, which is what i'm deciding between given my options right now) then i probably will end up taking more trivial things into consideration.
good luck getting off the waitlist! one of my best friends attends now after getting off the waitlist late in the summer and loves it.

While I agree with this to a certain extent, I feel like the exceptional admissions staff tells something about the organization of the school as a whole. If they are on-top of this, I can't imagine they are dropping the ball elsewhere.
And good luck getting of the WL, as well. Be persistent!

I agree with this. It would be silly to pick a LS based solely on the peace of mind you get from their admissions process, but W&L's smooth and well-communicated admissions process has really helped me see them as the type of transparent, student-driven school I want to attend. It's nice to not have to stare at the status checker and question every single update... (not that I do that

15,000/year. Didn't expect anything at all, much less this much. That's fantastic.
edit: I keep trying to put faces to names on the Facebook group. Pretty much impossible.

In as of a few days ago. W&L has, without a doubt, the most personalized admissions process. Numbers are below both medians so this is a nice surprise. Non URM.

PM with any questions.

the affinity form is the online survey-type thing where you indicate what student groups you'd like to be contacted by.
