Flying from Houston would just be a huge pain and unfortunately $411 was the cheapest flight any time of the day...
I'm gonna continue checking daily for a few weeks but I'm sure I'll just have to bite the bullet.

That email was nice. Anyone thinking about signing up for contact from a current student?

I requested the black law students group and OUTlaw on the form, and I think I also selected to be contacted by individuals as well

Just booked, and am going in February. Coming from DC luckily it isn't TOO much, but decided on a single room.

I took a leap of faith and said I won't die if I get a double. Hope no one kills me!

+1, I doubt we'll be in the room all that much though. I plan on sampling the bar scene in Lexington Fri. and Sat. night.

For those of you heading to the ASW in Feb., are you planning on going to the dinner on Saturday night, or are you bailing after the program ends?
and I'm definately in for testing out the bars

Just went under review and I'm supposed to hear back next Thursday. (Wow, I'm loving the quick turnover time!)
But what's this about STICKERS?! W&L definitely just went up in my rankings...

I'm probably gonna go to the dinner just for the free meal, I may change my mind though.

Agree, going to dinner so that's one less meal I have to buy. I also am down to test out the bar scene! But I can't imagine it'd be that hopping in little old Lexington lol

If you get in you get an awesome sticker. It's pretty much the best thing ever.

From what I remember when I visited for UG, there really wasn't a bar scene. But then again, when I was 18 I wasn't really out in search for that as much. UG was training for the alcoholic, need to know that Lex will also be able to contribute to the "functioning" alcoholic for law school.
And I definitely will be staying for dinner! I'm actually really excited for ASW, W&L is a top choice but even with $$ it's still more expensive than some of my other options, so I'd really like to see more of the law school and hear what they have to say.

Re: Bar Scene, I asked Dean Twitty about this when we had the phone chat a few month back and he said there are a few local places that everyone on campus regularly goes to, so drunkortunities exist for those who will search for them.

And search I will. Looking forward to seeing what Lexington really has to offer.

Hi, I need some clarification on something. W&L sent me an email encouraging me to apply, however my numbers are below both medians. Is this some ploy to reject candidates such as myself in order to boost their ranking, or do I really have a chance of gaining admission?

I'd go ahead and apply, unless you don't think it's worth $16. As the Great One himself once said, you miss all of the shots you don't take.
All this bar discussion is getting me excited for February

Also going in Feb...Hear most law students go to Macedos. A few other restaurants/bars in town.

When I get off the plane in March I wish there was a chauffeur standing there with a sign that said "TLS Bar Party"... One can only dream

Just got an email at 12:00 saying that the decision will be posted in the next 15 minutes. Although I appreciate it, now I can't do anything but stare at the computer.......
