Also, mine did not ask for an additional LOCI.

People got in off the waitlist in May, June, July, and even one in mid-August (actually about four days before orientation week I believe). So, it does happen.

For those still following my cycle, Iowa has been ruled out. I wish I could have made it happen, but the cost of living killed it for me.

I've submitted FAFSA information and linked my bank account to receive a direct deposit... but I haven't received any financial aid packet information yet from Iowa. I have received it from other schools, but I'm attending Iowa. Anyone else in a similar position as of now? Have people been receiving their financial aid breakdown information yet? (Regarding scholarship (if any), and loan amounts.)

Did anyone on the preliminary waiting list not get onto the official waiting list?

What is up with this preliminary vs. official waitlist. The top of my status checker reads "At this time your application has been placed on the official waiting list." my status reads "Preliminary Waitlist" and Decision Status "Waitlisted". This talk of preliminary vs official is confusing, could someone please clarify. It appears to me there is only one single waitlist you can be on.

Brototss,

Back in December I was put on the preliminary waiting list. They said that over 150 people are on the prelim waitlist, and that most of us would be moved over the the official waitlist in April. I am now on the official waitlist, and there is no longer a preliminary waitlist, only an official waitlist. So you are on the one and only waitlist:-)

No I wish I had thought to ask during our conversation. I think I'll way a few more days to bug them, but I'll report back if I hear anything else.

I know THINGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Iowa started with preliminary waitlist at over 400 people, with regular waitlist were culled to 250 and within the next week or so we'll be culled to 150 (based on people who didn't respond to being added to the waitlist). Good luck to everyone and me most of all.

Lol good luck to you too! That's crazy that there were originally over 400 people on the list. I hope there is more like 15 of us instead of 150 of us next week. Congrats on making the cut.

Welcome future and potential Iowa 1L'ers! I would like to extend myself as well to any questions involving life as a law student here at Iowa. I am a non-traditional student having to split my law school responsibilities with those of being a husband and father. It has been rough but it can be done!

As the Fall gets closer those attending will definitely have questions about housing/living. Please, feel free to ask your questions and get as much information possible before classes begin. Also if you are interested in IP law let me know.

Good luck everyone and make sure you catch up on your sleep before orientation week in August.

So I applied very late (barely making the deadline) and received acceptance about a month ago. I had just taken a new job within the company and was planning on declining law school to work for another 2 or 3 years while they paid for my MBA and would think about law school afterwards. This past week, I got my scholarhip off from Iowa and I was quite surprised they offered me a full merit scholarship. That's too hard to pass up, so looks like I'll be attending this fall. Now to have a little chat with my new boss, I'm sure he won't be as excited as me. My stats are 165/3.5 and I was WL at UMN and declined at WUSTL.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
