169/3.8
Out of state

It's my first acceptance this cycle, so some of the pressure is definitely off.
CONGRATS! If I may ask, how much was the schollie for? Hoping for an acceptance and scholarship, but thinking my LSAT just might not be high enough
I'm not sure yet how much the scholarship was. The dean mentioned there would be an offer sent with the packet of materials they mailed this morning. I'll keep you updated.

I was under the impression that you had to receive a decent scholarship amount in order qualify for the travel scholarship. If you got the email, I'm sure you received a scholarship.

In case anyone was wondering about scholarships, I received an offer about a week after I got the admission phone call and the admit packet. I had a voicemail that didn't say anything about a scholarship so it came as a surprise to find it in my mailbox!

I thought so too, but I was accepted end of Janury and haven't received anything. Maybe it got lost in the mail?

Yeah, you should've gotten it by now and since you received a travel scholarship I would call. Just to be sure.

Got the call on Feb 10th and the travel scholarship email today... I was also hoping for something about a scholarship offer though.
Does getting the travel scholarship absolutely mean we're getting a scholarship offer?

I got my first ding this morning too around 4 AM. Oh well.

I guess the eyes of Texas are in fact not upon me at all.

4 am ding after a two week turnaround tells me a computer handles their admissions. So much for a full file review

I got the dean scholarship for 9500 per year but baylor just offered me full tuition. This complicates my desire to go to UT. Does anyone know if the matching program would consider baylor?

They only consider peer schools - schools that are similarly ranked.

Also, going to Baylor over Texas with a partial scholarship would be a gigantic mistake in my opinion. I suggest you use the search function and find out some of the things people have to say about Baylor.

They probably have some numbers as minimums and let the computers ding those.

This guy gives me scholarship hope. He was 1. below the GPA cutoff for last year 2. used a bama scholarship to negotiate and 3. negotiated more than once. Not unlike the "non-existant" merit based fee waivers I think that the scholarship process might bend a little for some.

Got some inside info and this is it!

Holistic review starts AFTER you've met the cutoffs, even if you have incredible softs.

Nope...felt a little nervous about asking the person (who definitely knows) directly for those "unofficial" numbers. But, they tried to assure me that there is some "rationale" behind those numbers. It sounded all plausible but I couldn't stop thinking about how relevant those arguments would be in the absence of USNWR rankings.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
