Kind of odd to be using the same login for UT Law as for UT undergrad. Now if only I could utilize this for the next three years...

Why? It actually makes it easier for the university.

The only thing is you have to get the email from them before you can actually log in with your UTEID to check the status.

It makes it easier, but it's just an odd feeling. I feel as if I still need to pay a library fine or something when I log in.

Also in via phone call at 3:05 PST.

I had the conversation in front of my boss, who now knows I'm leaving for law school. Woops!

Awesome! I actually couldn't take the call. I live about five minutes away from the Mexican border, and, for some reason, my phone usually picks up TELCEL or MOVISTAR (Mexican cell phone service providers) and I get hit with roaming charges. It only happens in certain places throughout the city, including in certain rooms in my house. It's bizarre, but I couldn't answer.

Plus, I also saw the 512 area code and my first thought was that it was the Alumni Center calling me to see if I wanted to donate money (I get those calls a few times every month), so I figured there was no reason to pick up that call and get hit with roaming charges.

The answer is yes to the former and no to the latter.

Just got a large UT package in the mail, which turned out to be a viewbook of course, but for a moment I thought I might be special and get my decision by mail.

The Facebook page says they only give them to high level scholarship recipients and those students will be contacted individually

I think it is high level scholarship recipients that are out of state, so slightly more selective with it =\

Because most admits are from the state, and it is only a three hour drive for people in Dallas or Houston.

If you live in El Paso (like me), you're pretty much screwed. You're practically in New Mexico, and it's almost 200 dollars just to get to Austin (driving is nine hours through a miserable stretch of I-10, and the flights are usually at least 100 per trip, unless you can get a 80 dollar deal per SW, 160 roundtrip).

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Oh, I know. It is still hard for a college student to drive three hours during the week and not stay the night.

I got in with no phone call, just an email and then the welcome package. Not sure what that means in terms of scholarships, but it has to make me a little bit nervous (given everyone else seemed to have spent some personal time chatting up the dean).

I'm with you, except I didn't even get the email. Got the welcome package in the mail on Thursday with an acceptance letter inside... No word on a scholarship offer yet. Anyone on here know if the scholarship offer comes in the welcome package or a different mailing?

Different mailing. In November, they came about 1-2 weeks later.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
