Also I'm super embarrassed for freaking out this morning now that I've read the whole e-mail and it's just a waitlist, which I knew was coming....
I was right there with you, i read the first paragraph off the iphone screen in the dark and was shocked...wasn't until about an hour later when i read the whole thing. i wish i'd sent a reply at 4:02 AM, definitely would've resulted in automatic acceptance.

It totally sounds like a rejection: "We will not be able to offer you admission to the University of Texas" or something like that.

When do we think would be the best time to schedule a visit in hopes of getting off of the waitlist. Now? Or should I wait until like April-ish?

Does anyone have any advice to those of us who were waitlisted? Also, are seat deposits binding?

+1
By the way, the email starts with "I regret", so I was thinking it was a ding.

4AM ding. You are a cruel, cruel mistress, Texas. I hardly saw it coming. Was it because I skipped out on undergrad commencement and told everyone it was "stupid?" Did you secretly find out that I have kept using my bus pass? I know, I know, but it's nothing crazy. I just use it to get to work six days a week at the sick retail job I snagged with your undergrad degree.
PS I'm sending my mother to pick up my stuff. She thinks I am too good for you anyways.

Dinged this morning via email. A bit surprising. First rejection of the cycle. Stats in profile.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get Texas to increase scholarship aid above Dean's scholarship levels? I wish I knew how well negotiation worked when playing for big money.

wl this morning via email. 174/3.5, OOS. it wasn't a top choice for me, so i'm withdrawing, but i will be interested to see how the admission cycle at texas plays out. i bet we'll see plenty of waitlists getting in.

Well, I googled some and someone said they got more scholarship from texas using Vandy, but they didn't say the numbers.
