Received my admit packet in the mail a little over two weeks ago and still nothing about a scholarship. Should I call the admissions office or is it safe to assume that I'm not getting one?

Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
Same deal. I got the call on the 20th (18 days ago), and no scholarship information yet. I sent the admissions department an e-mail asking if I should be expecting something, and they just sent back a boilerplate form response that didn't answer the question. Historically, people with stats like mine have gotten some pretty generous offers, but who knows.Greenandgold wrote:Received my admit packet in the mail a little over two weeks ago and still nothing about a scholarship. Does anyone know the percentage of waitlisted applicants UT normally offers admission to? While I know it is bound to change depending on the cycle, is there a rough estimate out there?

Damn. Rejection email at 2:00 in the morning. Thats cold.
Stats weren't great though so I guess I should've expected it.

If you survived the massive ding/waitlist wave this week, I predict a phone call in your future.ucbkenn wrote:Held person here. Still waiting... am I the only one left?

I don't think anyone could predict this. I do know, however, that one year they didn't let anyone off of it.Rdubs wrote:Does anyone know the percentage of waitlisted applicants UT normally offers admission to? I appreciate your optimism. But if you got waitlisted, especially with all your work experience and Teach for America, I have nothing but doubts for myself.emkay625 wrote:If you survived the massive ding/waitlist wave this week, I predict a phone call in your future.ucbkenn wrote:Held person here. I am below the magical 3.4 line. Aren't you right at it? Or above it? Maybe I'm not remembering correctly...ucbkenn wrote:I appreciate your optimism. Does anyone know if Texas offers travel stipends for their ASW? Couldn't find anything about it on the website....

Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
So I submitted on 1/27 and still haven't gotten a status checker email, just the general, "We have received your application" Texas is a reach for me so I am not really expecting to get in, but it still seems strange to get nothing for almost 2 weeks...

I am in the same boat re: super reach. No worries on the status checker; I submitted in early January and it took nearly three or four weeks to receive mine.

Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
I just talked with the financial aid office, and they were able to tell me the exact gpa/lsat cutoff point at which they start offering scholarships. I assumed that it wasn't a holistic, 'he seems like a 78k kind of guy' sort of thing, but I was surprised that, number one, there's no leeway (3.59/180 gets no-offered), and number two, that they were so open about where it is. It's 3.6/168 for non-URMs, by the way.

So if you have a 167 does that mean you'll never get a dime, even after negotiation? Im 3.8 Gpa so that limit seems super arbitrary, and kind of unfair. Oh well.PigBodine wrote:I just talked with the financial aid office, and they were able to tell me the exact gpa/lsat cutoff point at which they start offering scholarships. the nice lady at the admissions office said a LOCI would be helpful. she also mentioned that WL offers typically go out during/after June (when they send out letters of intent to admitted students)
