Haha I'd definitely be down. Never actually been out on 6th street.

Let's just say that there will be an interesting atmosphere on 6th street during ASW with the Texas Relays being in town that weekend.

yeahhhh about that...

there's also the Rainey Street area, West 6th and South Congress which will probably be more representative of a usual weekend atmosphere tho

No admit packet yet here -- I'm impatiently awaiting its arrival so I can assure myself this is reality.
I am having trouble with this too. My status checker hasn't changed yet, and I keep telling myself there's no way they can rescind the offer. Right?

Possible, but i'm pretty sure you can't get it if you're only present in the state for education purposes. It's brutal to establish TX residency, which is what is keeping UT at "wait out the cycle" for me : /

I think Texas residency takes three years of living in the state.

Anyone have luck with the matching programs? If so, do you mind mentioning which schools they accepted as "peer" schools?

I'm wondering the same thing. I can't seem to find any info on Freshlaw about signing up. I'm going to go through the admit packet when I get home and see if I missed something in there.

Anyone looking for a place to live yet? I have a rental property that currently has law students in it, very nice. New real hardwood floors, landscaped back yard with a good sized pool and large decks, and brand new high-end appliances. I could put you in touch with the current tenants if you'd like to talk about commute times. I used to live there and I worked downtown, which was another two miles on the drive, and I could get from my garage to work in 12-15 minutes. Can be shorter depending on the traffic, and there is also a bus route nearby the house that takes you very close to the law school..

The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rent is going to be either 2100 or 2200 for the whole place. Its a great price for what you get-- the renovations on the home that were completed 8 months ago ran around $30,000.

Rent would probably be like $800 for the large master w/bath, and $700 for the other two rooms. House is near the Dell Children's Hospital/new businesses in that area for Austinites wanting to get a feel for the location. Please PM me and I'll email you with details and answer any questions you might have.

I'll be back in Austin to show the house from March 24th-28th. If it doesn't rent I can arrange showings up through early May.

Thanks.
