45? Did you mean 25? BU's tuition is under 45. I've heard BU has been willing to negotiate in the past.

Congratulations!

No, I made an error. I was awarded 35 by BU (was doing it by memory since I'm in Rome and away from all my junk...) for a total of 105. BC offered me 30, and I wanted to use my BU award as leverage...

Congratulations to you and the others who have gotten money! Well done. I'm still waiting to hear myself, anxiously.

Questions, if you don't mind? Is it merit or need based? Or do you know? And also, when did you submit your FAFSA/financial aid info?

Thanks!
Pretty sure it's merit. Email says "in recognition of outstanding credentials"

I filled out the financial aid forms about a week ago.

That's great. I read your profile though - do you think you'll try to retake the lsat and reapply? You could potentially get Y/H and probably anywhere else with money if you hadn't misbubbled! Seriously you could do incredible in a future cycle.

I submitted in early January and have yet to hear anything or go under review. Anyone else in the same situation?

Yes, though closer to mid Jan for me. 170/3.7+ so I was hoping to be offered a merit scholarship, but stuck on complete...

I was there! Had a great time and was really impressed by the passion and enthusiasm with which the alums spoke about BC and their career network. This has definitely become one of my top choices... assuming I get some scholarship money.

If we haven't received any notification about scholly, does that mean we are not getting any? I was accepted two weeks ago for people that are interested.

I am tempted to write in a LOCI, but think that may be a poor choice since BC takes up to 12 weeks to process apps. Thoughts?

Just received a rejection email about an hour ago after almost 13 weeks under review.

Yea, it turned out much better than I expected. The alumns really seemed to love their school and what it's done for their careers. The ones I talked to seemed pretty chill too, fitting everything I've heard about the student body there. Going in I already had a high opinion of the school, but now I can't wait to go to the ASW on the 30th.

It's crazy, I had no intention of living in Boston ever, way too cold, but it's looking more and more likely that BC might happen. Would be nice if I somehow got scholly money, but with my numbers I'm pretty happy to have just gotten in.

What is the consensus on merit scholarships? It looks like they have started giving a few larger scholarships out...does time of acceptance bear any weight? I was accepted back early December and would really like to know if I'm getting any money so I can start making some decisions.

I have no idea how they give out scholarships, but I got my scholarship email 12 days after the acceptance email. FWIW.

Hi Everyone,

I was accepted in early December but didn't receive a merit scholarship (by email) until a week ago. I filled out FAFSA and NeedAccess around the beginning of January, but the priority deadline is around March 15th. If anyone's hoping/waiting for need based aid, I remember someone from an old thread saying they did not receive their award until several days before the first seat deposit in April, which makes sense considering the priority deadline is only three weeks earlier.

I was trying to choose between BC, Notre Dame, and W&M over the last couple of months, but the scholarship tilted the scales in BC's favor, so I'll be sending in my deposit soon. Has anyone else decided yet?

i haven't heard back from bc yet, which makes it harder to decide. my application went complete 1/13, but no news since then. wonder if i should tell them bu offered me 105K (total) and i'd really appreciate it if they could give me as estimate of if i'll be accepted/how much merit aid i might get if so?

Yeah that's a tough situation. If you're accepted (and it seems you would have a really good shot) then you should certainly hit them with the BU scholarship offer right away to see what they give you. It's probably best to try to wait for the acceptance first though. Maybe give it about one more week, and if no reply, call them and try to get a response. Last year I applied really late (with a very poorly written PS) and I received a BC rejection letter in the mail that was postdated March 21st.

I've heard that BU is a little more generous with scholarships than BC, so they may not match the 105 exactly. However, I'll point out that every scholarship I received stipulated that I maintain a 3.0, but BC's stipulated that I maintain a GPA of 2.0, well below the median grading curve. Of course, not sure if they're all like that.
